Filmmaker Gordon Parks Dies at 93

QuoteGordon Parks, who captured the struggles and triumphs of black America as a photographer for Life magazine and then became Hollywood's first major black director with "The Learning Tree" and the hit "Shaft," died Tuesday, his family said. He was 93.

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

This could go in that "good riddance" thread.

I was thinking the same thing.

Diomedes

I thought about it, but I see the "Good Riddance" thread more as a place to celebrate the fiery death of that icehole in the SUV who was weaving in an out of traffic at 100mph.  Not so much for political or famous deaths.  So I put it here.

Besides, who wants to have to look at two threads to tune in to the march of death?

Aren't you the one that created the 2nd thread?

Diomedes

Sure.  As I said, it was not created to track the deaths of notable people, but to celebrate the demise of average iceholes, criminals, and general dirtbags.  I thought maybe we could keep it apolitical and just cheer when a rapist-priest gets raped to death, for example.

I admit that it was a dumb idea.

That would explain why I've been the only one posting there.
