Okay,

I guess it is time for the grading:

Offense:

QB: C+. Yes, McMahon made some mistakes, but who does not. I only saw one stupid throw. I can not fault him for the fumble, and the WR's let him down at times as well (another 5 or 6 drops). Let alone the fact that in the end some elements within the O-line decided to vanish.

RB: B. Most of the time their blitz-pick-up seemed decent. I thought they all did quite OK, including Mahe, though he clearly is the worst of the bunch (Moats, Westbrook, Gordon, Buckhalter are all better). I can not fault Mahe for his blockers missing their block on the screen, or not opening the holes. And he still ran for a 6 yards average. Nor can you blame them for dubious playcalling. Even Parry had some good blocks (1st Moats TD).

WR's/ TE's. C+. No more. Way too many drops. Some circus-catches. Reggie Brown looks okay.

O-line: C-. They did quite well untill overtime. Then they suddenly seemed to vanish. I tought Herremans did actually quite well, considering the fact that he went up against one of the better pass-rushers in the league this year, and quite often without help. I thought his block on the second Moats TD was great.

Defense:

D-line: C-. Again very little pressure it seems. Did allright at times but at other times seemed absent. I thought Kearse did quite well (especially 2nd to last series in OT). Fact that the Gints were allowed to hold like crazy did not help either.

LB's: D+. Sloppy tackling like you would not believe. Also quite sloppy in coverage at times. Trotter's missed tackle on Manning was huge.

DB's: C+. The only thing that jacks this above the D is the fact that they made some interceptions. They missed way too many tackles, and allowed way too many 3rd down conversions. Though the TV dudes might think Shockey is the second coming of Gonsalez, I thought blown coverage had more to do with his production then his skills.

Overall: They allowed way too many 3rd down conversions. Howvere, they seemed to play scared, frightened that the refs might throw the flags all the time for PI or holding. Which, not surprisingly, they did.

Special teams: B+; Good effort, good coverage.

Coaching:
Defense: B+ I thought defense did alright. I can not fault JJ for his players not tackling, nor for phantom calls by the refs.

Offense:D+. Decent throughout the game, but during OT is simply stunk. Complete f-ing idiocy.

Refs: F. Atrocious. I know they can not see everything, but this was ridiculous. McMullen (IIRC) got raped on the catch he made for 1st down in OT. No flag. Eagles suddenly get called for holding after holding, yet the Gints were allowed to hold all day. On the big Tiki run, you could see one by the left tackle through the end-zone camera. It was so bad (especially against Cole) that even Aikman and Buck commented on it. And a few much clearer PI's/holdings then the one's the Eagles got called for.

Overall: Neither team deserved to win. At least they gseemed to play with effort.

With Timmy, one of three things is going to happen. Somebody is going to get hurt - it's either going to be him, an opponent, or one of our players.

Rome

Any offense that has Reno Mahe playing a key role automatically gets an "F".

Spell Checker : A+. Always works well, does what it is supposed to.  :P

A team that expected to go to the playoffs, and possibly to another Super Bowl, is currently out of the playoffs with a 5-8 record.

No need to differentiate, the entire team gets an

F

Okay, but put that down on the coach. Offense is doing the execution. I can not blame the offense for a coach inserting an unwanted player. That is like blaming a QB for drops by WR's (of which there were at least 5 today).

First of all, I disagree with this assertion. Second, I think I am missing the point.

The team performed way better than anyone could have seriously been expecting. I liked a lot of what happened out there today.

That's true - at times I thought the Eagles may actually win!

ice grillin you

I thought Kearse did quite well (especially 2nd to last series in OT).

good thing the game went to overtime then

speaking of overtime...what was up with the 3rd and 20 call from andy...mcmahon has a hard enough time converting 3rd and shorts...why the hell would you go for it on 3rd and 20...plus you have eli coming off three straight interceptions...perhaps you go for it because you have nothing to lose but deep down i have a hard time believing andy wouldnt have done the same exact thing had the game meant something

coaching as is the case with most weeks = sub par
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

ice grillin you

throw a screen pass...run a draw...get 10-15 yards and pin the giants...again eli had just thrown three straight int's...put the pressure back on him

no way no how were the birds making 3rd and 20...giants had their ears pinned back and were just merking the eagles thruout the overtime..

again it doesnt really matter as the game meant nothing and if that was andys thinking i have no problem with it...but i dont think it was
