i am not giving up on greg lewis...but he'll never be more than a #4 guy.

i dont care what happens on or off the field...if the ball hits you in the hands and it falls to the ground and you fail to make plays fundamental to being a WR...you are practically worthless.

greg lewis is basically the same type of WR that thrash was. all we heard about was how fast he is...i have yet to see it.

even with all of the injuries...2 of the 3 current WRs have impressed me on occasion (Brown, McMullen)...lewis hasnt to the same extent.

If they sign Moulds and Javon Walker, I'd do the opposite of boo. It's been so long since I've done that I've forgotten what it's called.

I thought I read that Walker wasn't a FA...

I'm sure you're correct. I was just hopping on PhillyGirl's "GET WALKER" bandwagon.

I'm not saying give up on Lewis.  But I can't see the Birds not picking up a WR this offseason, and then starting Brown/new guy.  And McMullen has been much more effective this season, he's running and catching well.  And I have always contended that a 6'4" slot receiver is ideal, matched up against a LB/S.  That pushes Lewis down to 4 in my depth chart, and ToothPink into unemployment.  Maybe he can bus tables with the Mormon Power Ranger at Chickie and Pete's.
Anyone but Reid.

Never happen, but dear lord that would probably make me come. Walker, Moulds and Brown. Get a blocking TE on the team and a RB who can get 3 yards every carry and my football boner would never go away.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Let them eat bootstraps.

Moulds played Saturday vs. the Broncos and had 9 catches for 112 yards. He's still a legit #1 IMO.

He has some questionable personality issues but he's not as mental or flamboyant as TO.

Everyone's got questionable personality issues.  Those who don't are crazy, retards or even worse........crazy retards.

The article also says:

QuoteIf Benson fires him, Haslett would be free to collect on the final year of his contract in 2006 or sign with another team. If Haslett were to quit with one year left on his contract, Benson could force him to sit out next season. Any team wishing to name Haslett coach would have to get Benson's permission and perhaps give up a draft pick in the process as compensation

I thought after the Bucs stole Gruden from the Raiders that draft picks were no longer able to be used as compensation to the other club.

yup....but you expected great sports journalism in Buffalo?  :)

what's the definition of "giving up" on Lewis?  this year has proved that he can't be counted on as a contributing piece to the offense.  he could be a 4th reciever and special teams guy, but he can't be an impactful WR in the NFL.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Let's remember something here guys....

Lewis wasn't drafted. He didn't play for a good college coach or play for a good football school. When he was plucked from the "I wasn't even good enough to be Mr. Irrelevant" list people were hardly thinking that we found a key WR for the future. Is it really such a huge deal that people are giving up on this guy now?

Sure, there are some guys out there who were not drafted and went on to be productive players. Rod Smith and Jimmy Smith both have had stellar careers. Lewis is neither. He's nothing more than a 4th WR, and he never was. Granted, he did well last year, but let's face it - Owens had a lot to do with that. If he is anything other than a 4th WR next year, I'll be very dissapointed.
