Are you seriously even concerned about the NL East anymore?  I think the Mets biggest problem is going to be that the level of competition in the NL East is so weak that they will have a rude awakening in the first round of the playoffs.

At this point, if the Mets don't go to the World Series, it'd be a shocker.  Unless St. Louis gets healthy, nobody can challenge them right now...

No... I'm not too concerned at this point, but crazier things have happened.  In any case... I'd rather the lead grow than shrink.

While there's always the risk of the 1st round exit... to me... that has more to do with it only being a best of 5 series than the level of comp.

Apparently Willie sat Jose down and told him some stuff about not hitting the ball in the air and pitch selection prior to the Dodger series.  It must have worked.

Mets start out well on the toughest road trip (and stretch) of the season... taking 2 of 3 from the Blue Jays.  :yay

Coming into the trip, I wanted to see at least 5-4.  So far, so good.



On to Fenway to see the Sox.

Hmm. Imagine that. The star shortstop and leadoff hitter of a team is sat down and told to not hit the ball in the air and to work the counts better. And he listened.

That never happens in Phillie-land either.

Leyva = garbage
Fregosi = players did their own thing
Francoma = vadge
Bowa = players vadges hurt
Manuel = players like him but don't listen to him

Its the players. These clowns are the biggest group of whiners ever assembled and disguised as professionals.

And the organization is at fault to. I'm real deep into my I HATE THE PHILLIES stage now. >:(
