Just pondering the thought....IF the Eagles were to get him (seems a perfect fit...Eagles hate Rosenpuke, so does Walker), do you stand pat with him, Pinkston, Reggie and GLew?

Tough call simply because he'd be coming back from a pretty serious knee injury.  I know it's a common injury in the NFL and the treatment they get it top notch but it's still a question mark.  Also, there's no gaurantee with Pinky either.  I'm sure he'll be fine but I'll be very concerned about his Achilles from here on out.  If the Eagles go after him (Walker), I'll be all for it but I don't know if I'd feel comfortable with him and Pink as the starting wideouts with the (lack of) depth the Eagles have at reciever right now.

Also, let's say that the Eagles do sign Walker (or any other legit reciever that may be available).  What happens to Reggie next year?  What happens to Lewis?  I really like what I've seen from Reggie and I feel pretty good about him as a starter next year.  If the Eagles signed Walker, he would potentially bring the deep threat capability which would kind of eliminate the need for Pinkston.  Lewis either isn't ready to start or just isn't suited to but I do think that he would excel as the 3rd reciever.  So between Pink and Lewis, who would be the odd man out?

who gives a shtein what happens to lewis...he cant play as a starter. we know that now.

I think he's had some damn good games, and for a while was catching everything thrown his way.
Why do we know that now? Becuase you're sad today?

nope. he's very similar to james thrash. he doesnt fight for the ball. if he gets open, he catches it. but if it's a pass where he needs to use his body more to get to it. it hits the turf.

MURP

With Javon Walker hurt the way he was his situation has a good chance of being a "Shawn Barber"  with the 1 year "prove yourself again" deal.

there's an unsubstantiated rumor on another board that kearse fired him as well.

Since they're both named "J[e|a]von," I've gotta think the rumor had the wrong last name.

most likely.

esp since kearse would have no reason to do so...he's pretty set for a while and rosenhaus gets his commission anyway.

I assume you mean Walker?

BigEd76

yeah.  Supposedly Cold Pizza mentioned it this morning.  I haven't checked for a legit source though...

BigE, you're always my reliable source, this better be right or i'm going to look for another one.

Wouldn't it be fantastic to see Rosenslut asking "paper or plastic" someday?

Wonder if he'll room with Freddie Mitchell...

(I know that would never happen...but it could be fun)

Walker is a free agent in 2007, correct? Some people mentioned us getting him for next year. How would we do that? I'm not sure the Packers would trade him.

So how does Pinkston lose a whole year because of an injury and then somehow become a good player?  Do you people honestly think that he would have made a difference this year?  He's no better than Lewis or Brown.  Him being healthy would just mean having one more mediocre WR on the team.

He's better than Lewis.  The jury is out on Brown, we'll see when they report in.

You've been duped by ESPN replaying the same alligator arm clips of Pink declining to get nailed while reaching for uncatchable passes.  Pink is a decent #2.  Look at his YPC.  When a guy stretches the field like Pink did, the safeties have to respect that.  That leaves you a little more room to get busy underneath.  Without Pink, no one has pushed the safety back, because no one (on the Eagles) sprints down the field for a 35 yard bomb/PI call like he does.

I hope Brown proves himself to be better than Pink, but Glew has shown, emphatically, that he is not.

I think that they'd consider trading him, considering he's coming off injury, if they don't think they'll be able to lock him up past 2006.
