An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

packer has forgotten more about college basketball than all of us have ever known combined...he was a genius and a legendary announcer who hadnt fallen off at all...who cares if hes angry as long as hes a great announcer...you want tulips and kittens where every player is the greatest of all time then listen to vitale

vitale is just as annoying if not more. packer was a complete icehole who talked more about the game in the 70's than today. he couldnt deal with the mid-majors actually becoming respectable and was overall just a fleshpophead.

the next step is getting rid of that phony jim nantz. gus johnson needs to announce a final 4.

no the year he bitched out st. blows they didnt make it to the elite 8. and the year he whined about the mid majors george mason didnt make it to the final 4 and like 4 other teams didnt make it out of the first weekend. didnt happen, he was right.

theres always exceptions to the rule but in general mid majors suck and lately almost every year a) get to many teams in and b) the ones that do get in invariably get over seeded
