The defense giving up 17 to the Skins is bad. 17 might not look bad, but their offense is average and they marched up and down at will. It was pathetic.

agreed.  they could've easily given up alot more then that.  just like we could easily be 2-6 right now.

how many 3 and outs did they have?

1?
Pass.  Pass. Pass. PUNT.  No pro bowl WR's.  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  Retarded special teams.  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  "I've got to do a better job."  Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  Running game shines for 3 plays. Pass. Pass. Pass. PUNT.  No adjustments anywhere.  Pass.  Pass. Pass. PUNT.  (repeat)

The season isn't done in terms of playoff hopes and possibly a division title.  However, any hopes of a Super Bowl this team had are gone.  So in that sense, the season is over.  :P

Exactly.

All's I'm going to say is that I ain't buying into the "Oh my the season is over" tripe. It's not. They could run off a nice streak. They've done it before.

But I know the sky will be falling among fans but look at the big picture. This shtein ain't done.

Agreed, Phreak. There will be a lot of overreaction - hey, I'm disappointed that they're 4-4 at this point, too - but there's a lot of football yet to be played.

It's not as much how the Eagles played, but how the taterskins played.

The Eagles will have to dominate the Cowboys and Giants over the next two weeks for me to believe they have a shot at a Super Bowl.  If they somehow win the next 2, I'm back on.  Otherwise, I'll be cheering for a wild-card berth.

Lito had a bad game.  He whiffed on two tackles when we had the Skins pinned on their first drive, and he was penalized for that big pass interference play.

Sooooooo... basically, he sucks.

I'm thrilled beyond words that our team is in the midst of all this crap.
They did, however, look good in the loss. I'm encouraged.

I was disappointed, but it wasn't the end of the world.  The Eagles O needs to be more consistent, and the D line needs to get more independent pressure on the QB.  If those things happen, life will be a bit better.

Reggie Brown is a good one.  Losing LJ for the better part of the second half was big.  I wish they could figure out how to run the ball for positive yards consistently. Josh Parry is not good.

That is all.

Wait, wait, I'm not done. :-*

Michael Lewis either needs to switch to LB or find somewhere else to play.  He's a liability in coverage.  Luckily he makes up for that by not forcing any turnovers:  over the past 26 games, he's forced a measly 3 fumbles and he's grabbed 1 INT, and that play came on a hail mary at the end of the half.
More Mahe please.

Oh, and Billy Mac didn't look nearly as lost as usual.  That was nice.

Without having read a single word of this, or any other, thread, these are my thoughts.

- Lito Sheppard is a bum. How many missed tackles did our secondary have? 75% of them were Lito.
- The offense looked good for the most part but McNabb might be the dumbest human being on the face of the earth. Took points off the board at the end of the first half AGAIN, and threw a farging terrible interception at the end of the game.
- No LJ was no good.
- The young WRs looked pretty good.
- Every single break went the Skins way. Lewis caught that ball on the five. Dawkins forced a fumble that the Eagles didn't recover. A muffed kick that they didn't recover. They got no bounces in a game where I can't believe they needed them.
- This team is fine without TO.

The Eagles are going to have to go 6-2 the rest of the way out to have a shot at the playoffs.  Right now, that doesnt look good at all.

I know winning the Super Bowl was the ultimate goal, and that is in serious jeopardy right now, but why would you just proclaim that the season is over?  just because they can't win the Super Bowl now you aren't going to watch anymore?  if so, that's pathetic, and if you are going to still watch, shut the farg up about the season being over, they are halfway through their schedule with 6 divisional games to play yet, you never know what can happen.

if they don't accept TO back, this offense will actually be worse than in 2003, IMO.  in 2003, they had Pinkston as a deep threat to draw some coverage.  right now they don't have anybody that can go deep and actually go up for a ball.  maybe Reggie Brown can do that, but I'm not sure.  we are back to the good ol' days of every point they score being like passing a kidney stone.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

If they lose to the Cowboys this week, it's season over.
