So we are 4 and 3. Big deal. Win next game and we are 5 and 3 first half. That works out to 10 wins. That will get us in the tournament. That is the first goal. We have the players to straighten this out. Eventually, I believe we will flip the switch. I see alot of sparks. That 15 minute span yesterday is an example. We will get the ship righted.

The record isn't what worries me, it's the way we are playing. If we keep this up it could very well turn into 4-5 soon enough. Which would make being anything but a wild card very tough.

Honestly I'd take 9-7 if it meant a playoff berth. And in the NFC 9-7 could secure a playoff berth.

Like I've said before - the only thing that matters is how you play in the playoffs. We all can speculate and predict and do whatever else we want to, but no one can say what this team will look like in January when it is playoff time.

In 2003 they were dead until they ran off 9 straight wins.

Anything can happen.

This motherfargin season is NOT over.

I really dislike it when people say "we" when referring to teams they root for.

It's not "we."  It's "they."

Please make a note of it.

As to the subject at hand, I agree, the season is far from over.  They're nearing the midway point with some serious issues to address but the talent that took them to the Super Bowl is still there for the most part.  They'll get it straightened out.

Yeah, like you don't say it.

I thought this thread was going to be about the possibility of a 4-3 defense, seeing as how our DEs suck.  But so do our LBs, so that wouldn' t be much of an improvement.  So I was going to say "dumb idea."

Now my plans are busted.  Damn it!

Sorry to disappoint you, Dio, but no, I don't mix my pronouns when speaking about the teams I cheer for.

There's a guideline I use for the we/they thing...

If the team signs a free agent I'll say "we got_____"
If the team wins the SB I'll say "we finally won the SB"

Anything that is directly related to on the field x's and o's stuff like running the ball I'll say "they have to run it more"

:-D ....I was thinking the same thing regarding the 4-3 defense.

I guess its all a matter of perspective

Don't flatter yourself.  You could never disappoint me.  And you're lying:  You say "we" just like tens of millions of other fans, and there's nothing wrong with it.  Move on.

It's like when you find out your wife/girl has herpes...you now have to say 'we' have the herp.

When your wife/girl finds out you just won the lottery...she has to say 'they' as in you and your new wife/girl.

Simple.

Apparently, I have disappointed you.  You've replied twice to posts of mine on this issue and appear on the edge of a breakdown over them.

And to reiterate, I don't say "we."  I say "they."  Since you don't know me and have never actually met me in person, you'll just have to take my word as Gospel (if you'll forgive the pun).
