Why Sheldon Brown Hates Dallas

"Sunday, it's the Cowboys. I think this is the best Dallas team we've played since I've been here. Drew Bledsoe is really playing well and he has the rest of the team believing in his ability. Having Terry Glenn back is big for them. He's leading them up and down the field with his explosiveness. Keyshawn Johnson looks like he has some youth back with the way he's moving around out there. Patrick Crayton is a lot like Greg Lewis in that he was overlooked in the draft and he's just worked his butt off to be a great player. He wants to prove everybody wrong. He's a great athlete who makes a lot of plays.

"They have weapons. We have our hands full, but we have some great players on defense so we'll be ready for the challenge.

"I'm very aware of the rivalry between the Eagles and the Cowboys -- for a different reason. I thought Dallas really liked me before the draft and that they would use a high draft pick on me. I tried to make it my best point to play well against Dallas. They passed on me.

"I'm not saying Dallas would have used a first-round draft pick on me, but I thought there would be more interest. Honestly, there are a lot of teams that I have a chip on my shoulder about, and I'm grateful that the Eagles picked me and gave me a chance, but I remember my encounter with the Cowboys well.

"I was with a guy who asked me, 'What is your biggest thing about being in the NFL?' I said something about playing against so many great players who I grew up watching and how excited I was about that.

After the interview, this guy said, 'I drafted Michael Irvin because he said his biggest thing was winning a Super Bowl and being a leader.' I thought, 'That's the easy thing to say. Anybody can look you in the eye and say what you want to hear.'

"It was amazing to me that Dallas wouldn't draft me because of what I said or didn't say. He wanted to hear something else, and the Cowboys passed on me. I will never forget that."

Ha! Ha! And you wonder why Dallas has had terrible drafts over the last few years (since Jimmy Johnson left and before this draft).

They could've had Sheldon but instead they had stars like Pete Hunter, Bruce Thornton, Jacques Reeves and whatever other scrubs they've had at RCB.

But they went out and spent a $10M signing bonus on burnt toast this year.
