The Phils will never win a title in the rest of their existance. Just sell the team to another city already. This town would be so much healthier without a baseball team. All the stress that this team gives people. They are losers and they will always be losers.

If it makes anyone feel better, for the first time in awhile, the Phillies are one of the 4 best teams in their league. Too bad the NL West is allowed a playoff team.

I actually like the Padres but that is so wrong that they might go into the playoffs under .500.

Padres had a chance to basically win the division tonight and blew it to the Giants. I'm hoping the Giants get in so Bonds will be the center of attention, he'll act like the jerk that he is and hide behind a national tradgedy, then get blasted in public.

It's like that in every sport. The only reason you don't bitch about it in football is the Eagles are good every year. If the Phillies were fully dedicated to winning you wouldn't even have to worry about it. The Braves win the division every year, but get smoked in the playoffs every year. Why? Because they suck. They are overrated. It's easy to overtake the Braves. Why haven't the Phillies done it? Because the management doesn't know what the hell they are doing.

that would make sense if the Braves hadn't won the division 80 years in a row.  Stop sniffing glue.  The Braves are a very well run organization who makes the playoffs every year.

i hate the Braves, but you can't knock em for not winning the World Series every year.

Not only do they not win it every year, but they get upset by a wild card team almost every year. They underachieve when it counts.

In recent years I'd say they've overachieved during the regular season rather than underachieve during the playoffs.  But regardless of whether or not they are over or underrated, they've won like 14 division titles in a row and that's nothing to be ashamed of.  Could you imagine the Eagles winning the NFC East 14 years in a row?  I'll be flat out amazed if/when they get #5.

I'd rather blame the Phillies for the Braves success instead. It's more fun, and makes more sense.

I'm going to take a page out of the Raiders and taterskins fan's book and blame it on the league, the umps and the schedule.

I hope you're happy MLB, you've done it.  You've beaten the Phillies again and kept them from succeeding.  Wah, wah, wah.  The Phillies are the awesomest and you know it and you're just keeping them down.  Wah, wah, wah.

Wow, I hit the rack early tonight because I'm on duty and have the Midnight to 4 AM watch, figuring a 4-1 lead was safe. Boy was I wrong
