so whats the excuses?  was mcnabb hurt all game?  is that why he played like a pansey?  he looked horrible last night.  he just looked rattled all game and never got it together. the play calling was just as bad IMO.  Reid and Childress had no answer to the Falcons D.  i though the eagles D played well, but not as all the hype they were promising.  Vick had alot of protection.  Vick, despite not so great numbers, was on point last night.  He was def. the more accurate QB.  WHY THE farg didn't McNabb run the fargIN BALL!! If hes hurt get him the farg out.  Once again the blames all pretty much on McNabb.  I think last night he was scared after the hit...and he pretty couldn't get his confidence back.  We all know when McNabb gets that frown on his face the game is over.  DISAPPOINTING GAME.  But its only week one, so we have the entire season to make up.  Sorry i had  to rant and get some frustration out, im depressed as hell today.  fargin eagles!

Thats why I was thinking it and didn't post it before PP54 did. I'm not making excuses for him, he sucked. If he was inaccruate because of the spear, I don't know. He didn't look to be in any pain, but after a hit like that, how can you not be affected by it somewhat?

TO was playing too much like Moss for my tastes.  Yeah, he got big yards, but he also wasn't giving 181% on some plays - Hall interception he did little to break up or tackle, 3rd and 5 at the end of the first to name a few.

I have to agree - I had a bad feeling about him all game.  It was like he was trying to show that he was open, McNabb just wasn't getting him the ball.  Forcing deep routes instead of coming back for the ball, not covering on the INT, not stretching or laying out...  Eh, I'm probably just paranoid.

If this game would have meant something, I'm sure we would have seen Westbrook returning punts toward the end. I wish we would have anyway as Wynn was sucking it up.

The pre-season ended after the Jets game. Saying this game didnt mean anything is foolish. Had we won, I'm sure your feelings would be a tad different.  And how was Wynn "sucking it up"? Considering the poor blocking, I think he did the best he could do.

Listen, we just didnt come to play last night. Period. Like everyone else, I'm nervous about going 2-3 into the bye week, but I know this team. Were better than Atlanta. Hell, were still the best in the NFC as long as we play to our potential and well be just fine.

Last night sucked, no question about it. But, it's not the end of the world. Look back at this teams track record. We'll bounce back - we always do.

The first game of the season is not a must win like a playoff game. That's what I meant when I typed the game meant nothing which contributed to my point of not seeing Westbrook returning punts (because the coaches agree this game meant relatively nothing). There was nobody at all around Wynn when he muffed the return, damn near resulting in yet another turnover.

yeah, the hit on McNabb was a penalty... just like the hit on Ritchie in the preseason against the Steelers.
