So just exactly what are you trying to say? one in a million chance?

Not even.  Not gonna happen.  No way.

phillymic2000

I was just kidding ;D going for the dumb and dumber response, "so your sayin there's a chance"

I knew what you were going for... which is why I responded as I did.  Sucker.

None of you fools know what the FO is going to do.  Who here said no way that TO would be an Eagle last year?  Most of you.  Saying that there is no chance we sign Price is stupid.

And I know everyone likes to make butt love to our receivers, even though, other than TO, they have almost no experience, but Price has shown that he can play when he has a quarterback that wants to throw the ball to him.

They are not going to sign a guy to a big contract to be a #4 and they are not going to hinder the growth of Lewis and Brown either by bringing in a guy like that. Its not stupid, its LOGIC. Try it.

I said there was no way we'd sign TO last year. I admit that I was wrong. But signing Price would be retarded. It would almost certainly be for one year, he would  probably be our #2 or 3 and then after this year he would probably be gone. And since TO will probably also be gone we would be letting 2 of our top 3 WRs walk. Retarded.

Who said it's going to be a big contract?  And who said he would be the #4?

You people do realize that we're trying to win a Super Bowl THIS year right?

Bringing in a veteran WR definitely hinders the growth of the young guys.  If that's what you call logic I'd rather not try it.

Why?  Especially when...

Everyone seems to be dismissing Warrick & Price because the Eagles are "set" for this year.  What about next year?  Since when does the Eagles FO only plan for this year?

An ad hominem fallacy consists of asserting that someone's argument is wrong and/or he is wrong to argue at all purely because of something discreditable/not-authoritative about the person or those persons cited by him rather than addressing the soundness of the argument itself.

None of this really matters anyway once Carlos has his breakout game.

Thank you sir.

Dude, we're trying to win a superbowl every year. The team has never said anything like 'this is the year that we're trying to win a superbowl and we'll do whatever we can for this year to do it.'  That's what us fans say because we're desperate for a farging Lombardi trophy. The Eagles don't seem to think that way. They don't have a history of signing players for one year to "make-a-run right now" at the possible expense of future seasons and I don't see why they would do that now for a player who isn't really all that good.

Signing Price or Warrick wouldn't be a move for the future because I can't imagine why the eagles would give either of them a long-term contract after several disappointing seasons by each.

Our FO makes some surprise moves, no doubt.  I was utterly floored when they signed Jevon Kearse on the first day of free agency.  Frankly, with all the stuff going on with T.O., I always thought he was a possibility... but the Kearse thing was probably the most surprising move they've made in recent memory.

Still, that was the first day of free agency.  The Eagles are very close to starting the season, and spending more than the minimum on a one-year audition player at a very finicky position is just really unlikely.

I would put the odds of adding a guy like Warrick at 100:1 and the odds of adding Price at stone cold zero.

A guy like McCants fits the profile a lot better.  He won't cost a lot, he won't ruffle the depth chart much, but he still would improve the depth at the bottom of the WR ranks and has the upside to contribute beyond 2005.

rjs must have laid off the bottle last night, he's very lucid right now, making complete sense.  it's scary, someone hold me.
