pg i excuse....she obviosuly watches hockey unlike a lot of people spouting off re: this series...her problem is she has some of the worst homerism ever seen on this planet...

Well, I won't be watching any more of the fiasco.  I was watching the TSN feed on Center Ice, and apparently TSN switched to the Rangers-Devils OLN feed

yeah that was really weird....at first i was pissed at center ice but what happened was tsn switched and center ice was caught off guard...it took them a while but eventually they switched to the sabres feed of the game...originally i thought center ice did it and that it was their policy to do so now...but that wouldnt make sense since the whole purpose of the apckagaes is so fans can see their team in their entirety

while watching the game last night i was taking notice of the two teams rosters and the contrast is just unreal...generally europeans are more skilled than north americans and when you get into north america the faster and better skaters can be found in the quebec junior league...players under 30 as well are in general are more swift than older players...naturally

buffalo has 10 players on their team that are either euros or qhl players
the flyers have 7

buffalo has 3 players over 30
the flyers have 13!

the flyers possess an amazing ability to find slow euros

included in their group of seven are handzus...radivojevic...kapanen...forsberg...i didnt think there were that many slow blue collar europeans in the world somehow the flyers have that many on their team

its been beaten to death but clarke needs to either go or change his philosophy...signing hatcher or rathje is questionable...signing both was inexcusable...he just doesnt get it...he also has an appalling record of drafting euros...and im not talking about 15 years ago...in the last three years he has taken like two euros in the first three rounds of the draft...and last years number one steven downie?...wtf?

you have to decimate this team...blow it up...start over

join the rest of the league in the new nhl
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

The Sabres might be better than the Flyers but they're not 8-2 better.

The Flyers will rebound on Wednesday night, guaranteed.

i dont if id be guaranteeing wins after a debacle like last night...tho i do think the flyers can steal one at home

funny how after the first game the 55 shots were an aberration and buffalo wasnt nearly that good the flyers werent nearly that bad...now buffalo is better but not 8-2 better...that should make the flyers feel all warm and fuzzy inside...boys they are only three or four goals better than us at best...not six

Slow Europeans?

Kapanen
Is extremely energetic and an excellent two-way forward. Can play either wing position and possesses great speed. Has enough versatility to play defense in emergency situations.

Forsberg
Possesses an excellent combination of skill and physical play. Is an outstanding playmaker due to great vision. Also takes care of business in his own end. Can change the pace of a game with an eye-popping rush or a crunching hit.

Handzuz is a defensive centerman. He is a specialist. All these guys are great for a team with the right pieces in place. What I don't like about the make up of this team has nothing to do with the forwards though they could use some depth at center. It is the slow ass defense. Clarke Likes his Defensemen big and slow.

Also I don't think Esche is a #1 goalie. I like him. I hope he does well as an American born player. I just don't see it in him.

Last nights game was a debacle leave it at that.  Esche imploded, and i really thought he was gonna be the Esche of 2003-2004 but he pulled a Chekmanek.  Either way they need to play strong the next game.  They're capable but have been terribly inconsitant with they're scoring, and defense all year.
QuoteLooks like Primeau will play in Game 3

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- There is a desire, a will, a determination that burns inside the body of Keith Primeau.
Sometimes, that competitive fire rages to a point where absolutely nothing can get in its way.

That is, until the concussion Primeau suffered last October forced him to miss practically an entire season and also forced him to hold a news conference in February to emotionally and reluctantly call it quits for the season.

But that's when the inner flames were fanned in the biggest of ways. That's when the thought of not being able to play hockey until September at the earliest really started eating away at Primeau.

That's when he decided, when he felt as close to well as he could, he would begin embarking on a mission to return in time for the playoffs.

It was a long shot, but it was a goal that Primeau was hell-bent on reaching, and it looks like he just might do it -- and sooner than expected.

Like in this opening round series against Buffalo.

Like, maybe even Wednesday night in Game 3 at the Wachovia Center.

According to a team source, Primeau could be back in the lineup as soon as Wednesday, and if not, Friday assuming he's feeling well enough and the team doctors clear him to play.

Primeau was cleared by the doctors to start taking hits in practice beginning last Friday, and has not suffered any setbacks from the physical contact since.

At this point, the lone issue remains improving his conditioning to a point where he thinks he is game-ready, which is on the horizon.

Primeau wouldn't confirm that he's going to dress for either Game 3 or Game 4, but he wouldn't deny it either.

"Yeah, I want to play. There is no question that I want to play," said Primeau. "But I made promises to people, like I said before, I made promises to people that I would be smart about this and for me to assume that I'm going to play Wednesday, I can't do that. I really can't."

But, is there a chance he could play?

"Again, I can't say that I really can't. I can't," said Primeau. "I'm working to get back. I want to play Wednesday night, but that doesn't mean I am playing Wednesday night."

Primeau said he wanted to play in both Games 1 and 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, but he just didn't feel completely in game-shape, although most of his post-concussive symptoms are gone.

"I'm close. I feel I'm close," said Primeau. "Again, you ask me how am I feeling today as opposed to another point so I've got to tell you, I know what I'm doing brings a lot of questions and I understood that when I took on the challenge.

"But, I'd love to be in the lineup Wednesday night. I can't sit here and say I'm going to be in the lineup Wednesday night. I (was) trying to be in the lineup (Game 1), I (was) trying to be in the lineup (Game 2)."

Primeau has been excited by his improvements during the past month, and working out and practicing with the team has been a big boost emotionally for him as well.

Now, the "symptoms" he feels may not be post-concussive at all, and rather, could easily be from working out at a level he hasn't attained since before catching an elbow to the jaw from Montreal's Alexander Perezhogin in the eighth game of the season.

"I'm feeling better," he said. "I've added some light contact in practice here the last few days and I wouldn't say I was 100 percent in that contact, but I felt pretty darn good. For me it's how I feel afterward when my heart rate comes back down and the adrenaline settles down and I have to go back to just doing a regular routine and if that's symptom free then I'm feeling pretty good.

"My head is finally allowing me to try and do more stuff and I'm trying to do that. I'm trying to push it as hard as I can in the hopes that I can try and play at some point."

Still, Game 3 seems to be a good possibility. A very good possibility, with the only thing standing in the way of a glorious return in front of the home crowd being a couple of signatures from medical personnel on some sheets of paper.

"I still have some hurdles before that's possible so I don't want to make any guarantees, because that's not fair," said Primeau. "It's not fair to my family and it's not fair to the organization to make that type of assumption without first clearing some hurdles and some visitations to doctors."

But, he's cleared every other hurdle in the past few weeks, what's a couple more before the finish line?

Primeau hasn't played all season, aside from a minor emotional lift he won't provide much. I'd hate to see him get Lindros'd.

Geowhizzer

I'm no doctor (so take this for what it's worth), but from what I've read there seems to be little doubt that Primeau should still be on the sidelines.  Any minute boost that the team may get from having Primeau in the lineup would be mitigated (and then some) by the possibility/probability of severe injury.

Rome

Two games at their house, two losses.  Big farging deal.  Series like this can turn at a moment's notice and certainly have in the past.

First off, I don't think he'll play... Hitchcock said this morning that he's not playing.

However, a few years ago Forsberg missed the entire NHL season and came back for the playoffs and led all scorers in the postseaon. So it isn't like it's impossible to return and be effective.

The old addage is that a series hasn't even started until a team wins a road game...

what happens when the series plays out with the home team winning all the games?

the series never started, even though it's over?

Initial speculation was that he'd be back for game 4, I really see no point in bringing him back. And please never again compare Keith Primeau to Peter Forsberg, thanks.

I know they're for a good cause, but those pink Flyers jersey's are the ugliest thing I have ever seen.
