Injury Update

Brown wasn't the only cornerback on the injury report. CB Matt Ware is suffering from a toe infection on the bottom of his big toe. Ware had to have to toe cut and drained, he is day-to-day.

RB Correll Buckhalter is going to continue rehab this week on his knee. The swelling is down, but not all the way. At the end of the week, Buckhalter's knee will be checked out again.

DE Trent Cole sprained his sternum in Monday night's loss at Pittsburgh. He is having an MRI on Wednesday.

DT Paul Grasmanis suffered a foot strain. The team believed it could have been a Lis franc sprain, but it's not. As for DE Jamaal Green's foot strain, the team is erring on the side of caution.

Offensive lineman Jamaal Jackson's tricep tear is improving. He is getting stronger, according to Coach Reid, and they are optimistic he will return soon.

LB Mike Labinjo suffered an MCL sprain in the Pittsburgh game and is day-to-day. FB Jon Ritchie is also day-to-day with a knee contusion on the same knee that he had ACL surgery on last season.

As noted earlier in this tread I'm not suprised about that injury.

It looked like a dangerous hit to me.

It was, Ritchie wasn't coming head on, he was concentrating on catching the ball and right as he turned around the guy went head/shoulder first right into the top of the knee/quad area.  He didn't go for the midsection, he went low right at the knee area when Ritchie wasn't even looking.

And as was noted, PE.com says it was a knee contustion, not a quad injury.     If you watch that play again, listen to the sound.

I'll pass thanks.  It was a cheap hit IMO.  Everyone has their own opinion on the matter.  If Ritchie has a chance to see it coming, then yeah it was a decent hit, but when you go low that hard on a player that is looking back to catch a pass, I think it is a cheap hit.
