The only positive take on the situation I see is that you have to assume that the Eagles are going to lose at least 3 people for the season every year. Out of everyone on the team Pinkston isn't on the top of the list of players that we just can't afford to lose. Thankfully Buck wasn't hurt because he is a lot more important than Pinkston. On top of that whether Pinkston is very important to this team or not, he only caught one TD last year and none in the playoffs. That is just the positive look.

Offseason needs: 2 DEs, 1 DT, 1 OL, 2 LBs, 1 RB, 2 WRs, 1 TE, 1 KR.

Thanks for waiting 5 hours to break news that they knew from the time he went down on the field.  ::)

Ok, then...let the non-speculative talk begin....

I love the Pinkston underachiever bs.  Those who use it clearly don't understand what the word means.  When has Pinkston ever shown he had the talent and ability to be a superstar gamebreaker receiver?  He never has.  He just doesn't have the genes of a TO - he'll never be a big huge hulking receiver who can dominate a game.  He is what he is - he's got a frail frame and good speed and that has translated into being a very solid #2 receiver when paired with a true #1 - the guy led the league in catches over 40 yards - in fact he averages more big play catches per year of his career than many of the big star receivers.  That's what he does - beat defenses deep when they fail to respect his speed b/c they are worried about guys like Owens and Westbrook.

This underachiever tag is for guys like Corey Simon, Vincente Padilla, Derrick Coleman, etc. - guys who have the physical tools to be superstars, but just don't put in the work necessary to get there, not a skinny as a rail thin football player who has reached his limited potential.  If you expected more from him shame on you.  Just because he was drafted in the second round, doesn't mean he had the talent of a second rounder.

Well now that it's official I've got to say it made by stomach drop, but just a little. Best of luck, Todd, you're probably gonna need it.

Eagles will probably end up giving a 6th for Kevin Johnson. No, that isn't a joke either. There's no guarantee he'd make the team anyway with their crop.

I'd rather see them take a flyer on Koren.  at least he has upside.....

and a unbelieveable downside.

Kevin Johnson has done more in this league than Pinkston has to his credit. He was the Brown's leading receiver for a couple years, and does have experience with Mcnabb.
