First, the Owens story. Media camped out in front of team's dormitory for hours and hours and hours on Monday. It was comical and ridiculous and one long-time writer said to me, "This is the lowlight of my career."

Every time a car pulled into the parking lot, the media cranked their necks and ran over to the general location ... just in case it was Owens. Inevitably, it was not, and the media slumped their way back to their seats in the shade waiting for the next false alarm.

Some of the writers and TV guys and producers and radio people played catch with a tennis ball. Some read. Some slumped over, dejected at the horribly boring part of the job.

At around 6:02, Owens turned into the parking lot and the race was on. Hundreds of men -- most of them in not-very-good shape -- trundled toward the car to crowd Owens.

T.O. got out of his car wearing a military fatigue-designed hat with a No. 4 on it, a camouflouge shirt (What, he didn't want anybody to see him?), sunglasses on and headphones drowning away the outside world.

The media walked and talked and bumped into somebody's car, setting off the alarm, and then asked him a question or two as he walked to the dorm -- he didn't answer -- and then circled back and surrounded agent Drew Rosenhaus to talk to him. Rosenhaus, of course, talked.

It's ironic, because usually to that type of thing you tell them to get a life, but that is their job so you can't really say that. I guess the job of a reporter is to be annoying, care about insignificant things, and have no life, but get paid for it.

Agent: T.O. at camp to stay

Inquirer Staff Report

Agent Drew Rosenhaus said this morning that Eagles wide receiver Terrell Owens will remain in camp no matter what happens in contract negotiations.

In an interview on ESPN's Cold Pizza morning show, Rosenhaus said, "No, he will not be leaving camp. He is here for good."

Rosenhaus is expected to meet with Eagles president Joe Banner sometime today.

"In an ideal world, we set up a framework to set up a new contract," Rosenhaus said. "Hopefully, we create a dialog and head in the right direction."

In the past couple of days, Rosenhaus has worked out contracts for two of his clients, Antoine Boldin of the Cardinals and xxxx McKenzie of the Saints.

"I promise we will do that here as well," Rosenhaus said.

On Cold Pizza....LOL...Skippy Clueless must have been crying when he found out TO wasn't going to leave camp.

Sounds like TO may have had a little conversation with Drew to let him know who was driving this bus. Rosenhaus' comments are much softer this morning, looking for a "framework to set up a new contract", rather than getting a new contract. If they want to discuss rainbows and unicorns for the 2006 season, I'm sure the Eagles FO will placate them to get Rosenhaus on the next plane out of the ABE airport...

He seems to be spinning defeat, unless I'm reading this incorrectly.
