Oh, totally.  I'm sure they'll get that worked out soon.

A tender offer of 380k?  What the hell did they tender him at?!

And Zan, I had the same thought, just not the heart to type it. :-D
Anyone but Reid.

Hey, if you can't make fun of gunshot wounds what can you make fun of?

I believe Gates was one of those Exclusive Rights Free Agents. When it comes to ERFA's the team holds every ounce of leverage.

I believe their former C (Jason Ball) was an ERFA and they tendered him, he refused to sign it and tried to hold out for more and they cut him loose.

However, Gates deserves a new contract. This is a warranted holdout.

Braylon Edwards a no-show at camp

QuoteEdwards has actually missed five days of camp. The club's rookies reported Monday for an orientation program and spent four days working out before the veterans arrived Friday. The team has two practices scheduled Saturday.

Eh, not such a big deal.  Aren't Ronnie Brown and Cedric Benson still "holding out" too?

QuoteBurress, Wilson Forced to Leave Practice

July 30, 2005

ALBANY, N.Y. - Wide receiver Plaxico Burress, one of the Giants main off-season free agent acquisitions, was forced to leave the field late in the first practice of training camp with a hyperextended right knee. Burress was injured when he ran a "go" route down the left sideline and had to stop and go up for a ball thrown by Tim Hasselbeck. While in the air, Burress collided with cornerback Ahmad Treaudo. Burress' right leg was extended when he hit the ground.

"There was an underthrown ball, they went up and got tangled," said coach Tom Coughlin. "They came down, and right now they are calling it a hyperextended knee and we'll see."

Coughlin is cautiously hopeful that the injury is not serious based on the initial report from vice president of medical services Ronnie Barnes.

"Well anytime a player is injured," said Coughlin, "it puts a damper on anything. It's really unfortunate, and hopefully he will fight his way through it. I mean we need to find out all the information about it, but if that's what it is, a hyperextended knee, then he'll make good progress coming back."

Burress is undergoing further tests and evaluation to determine the full nature of his injury.

Further tests = MRI (according to espn radio)

He was carted off.

Just yesterday there was an article in the NY Times about how Coughlin had restructured camp expressly to cut down on injuries.  Whatever you're doin', keep it up, Draco.

QuoteThe Cardinals on Saturday waived three-year veteran defensive tackle Wendell Bryant, the team's first-round choice in the 2002 draft, and the 12th player chosen overall that year.

The release of Bryant, just 24, continues the trend of purging the roster of most of the underachieving players who were obtained before coach Dennis Green arrived.

A former Wisconsin standout, Bryant appeared in just 29 games in three seasons and had just nine starts. He recorded 51 tackles and one sack.

"When you look at the numbers, and who we have along the defensive line, we just did not see a role for Wendell," Green said.

The team added journeyman defensive tackle DeVone Claybrooks, who has played in 13 games in stints with Tampa Bay (2002), San Francisco (2003) and Dallas (2004).

What do you think the reaction would be if the Eagles released Lito Sheppard after only 3 years?

Obviously Green didn't draft him, but that just shows the ineptitude of the upper management there in Arizona. Although I do think they are turning a corner.

Their 2002 and 2003 1st rounders were extremely questionable (Bryant, Pace, Johnson)
