Is it just me, or does Moats look like "Li'l Penny" compared to Jason Short and whomever is blocking him in this picture??

PhillyPhreak54

Yeah man, he is tiny.

One running play I was watching from the endzone view had me looking at the defense's backs. They snap the ball and everyone moves and then Ryan Moats appears from the carnage like a ghost. He disappears behind everyone.

The funny thing is that Chargers fans must be saying the same thing about Darren Sproles.

I haven't seen him run yet for the Eagles, but that sounds a little like Charlie Garner's style...hide behind the big guys, and they can't see him until he's streaking past them. Sort of like Westbrook, but even a little smaller. Should be effective to give Westy some downs off now and then, at least.

I'm sure they'll have formations with he and Westy in the backfield and then one or both of them split out...that's some serious speed to go with TO, Lewis, and Pinky.    :drool

I loved Charlie Garner...used to be my favorite Eagle. I still have his #25 and #30 jersey's.

me too!

Man i have never seen a player hit the hole as fast as Garner used to.  That guy was unreal.  Too bad he had so many other issues.

Me too...I'll never forget his debut against the Niners in 1994, when the Niners were heavily favored and Garner ran for over 150 yards (if I remember correctly).

Unfortunately, I think that was also Kotite's high-water mark. And, he could never teach Charlie to line up in the right spot, but that may have been Charlie hitting the Cheeb a little too hard in those days.

I never understood the cross-arms thing he used to do after he scored a TD, though.

40-8 win. I remember standing outside of a Taco Bell in Long Island using a pay phone while my dad told me the final score (had no access to the games back then before DirecTV)

He was from a town called Crossroads.

The man. The myth. The legend.

GF, is that really why? Never heard that before...makes sense.

PG, Great memory...that was the year the Eagles were 7-2, and then lost their last 7 games, including a last minute loss to the Bengals on what I think was Christmas Eve.

:puke Kotite era.

QuoteEach time Garner crosses the goal line, he crosses his arms in front of him to form an "X." "It stands for Crossroads, Virginia. That's where I'm from." Garner said.

Thanks for the link, but I believed you. You've solved an 11 year old mystery for me...not that I've actually ever put any effort into finding out, mind you, but I did always wonder.

Good thing he wasn't from Blue Ball, PA.

Tomahawk

Another thing to get you stoked is Pinkston is out for the year! The team just got better.
