Spads seems to think that he is going to have a toug htime making the final 53. ANd I can't say that I'd be said to see him go either. I gave that guy the benefit of the doubt early on, but I have grown to dislike him. I'd rather keep the young LBs who are hungry to play and to rip off peoples heads.

QuoteI think it was based on what coaches said and from what I saw. A combination. Had the DTs played better, Simoneau would have been fine at LB. The DTs were not good in the first half of the season. I also think Trotter is an improved player now than what he was in his first time here. He is more patient. He doesn't take as many chances. He's outstanding. Simoneau, I believe, is going to have a tough time making this team. He has some challengers waiting for him.

SLB - Jones / Richmond
MLB - Trotter / Labinjo
WLB - Adams / McCoy

The Eagles usually carry 7 LB's so that would leave one spot open. Simoneau would have to beat out Jason Short or one of the rookies Patterson or David Bergeron.

Im not against seeing him cut either.  He is what he is.  Hes not a starting caliber linebacker in our system IMO.  He cant shed blocks and he seems hesitant at times.  Im not just talking at MLB either, this is at WIL too.

No point at keeping him for ST when guys like Jason Short are madmen out there already.

Simoneau for special teams is a bigger joke than Simoneau the backup linebacker.

I wouldnt mind him not being on the team anymore, but I hope they dont outright cut him. I know they can get something for him, didnt we give a 4th and a 5th?

Geowhizzer

Maybe we can get a 2nd from Miami for him.  >:D

hes not big enough to be a solid linebacker, and personally i think hes a Hoyda. and he cant make tackles i perfect example is the NFC championchip game against the panthers and the panthers were on the Eagles goal line and the panthers ran the play and simoneau missed one tackle got up and the missed another. he sucks i couldnt give two shteins if he leaves the team. and its not like hes gonna go to another team and come back to haunt the Eagles he wouldnt even be a starter on another team.

Jason Short or Simoneau. ....

How can you not keep Short after his Special Teams performances?

Larry

Spads is playing you all like a violin.

He's just throwing that out there just so he doesn't have to hear the thousands of posts demanding Sims to be cut.

But as training camp commences, you'll soon be reading those 'Inside' pieces: "Simoneau: The Forgetten Man" then the feel-good "Simoneau Impressive During Preseason" before finally, "Simoneau Walks on Water--he's back into the starting lineup."  :-D >:D
More Mahe please.
