QuoteSeven-year veteran tight end Stephen Alexander, who enjoyed a productive bounce-back season in 2004 after a spate of injuries, has reached a contract agreement with the Denver Broncos, ESPN.com has learned.

Alexander, 29, will sign a three-year, $4.2 million contract that includes bonuses of $1 million.

Last season, Alexander registered 41 catches for 377 yards and one touchdown with the Detroit Lions. It marked the first time since 2000 that Alexander appeared in all 16 games, and his 15 starts were the most since that season, as well.

  Seahawks Sign WR Joe Jurevicius

Anyone know the terms on this one-year deal?  I wouldn't have minded a look at him for Philly to beef up our depth at WR.
The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

I'm sure it wasn't for much more than the minimum, he was out there for a while and there weren't many teams showing interest. I'd of been happy having him for 1 year, I mean, he is an ex-Penn Stater  :)  :yay

the less I see of Jerkinvicious the better.  He is an Eagle killer.

Not really FA news, but not worthy to be anywhere else...

Rams wide receiver Torry Holt renegotiated his deal in a move to help free salary-cap money for the Rams.  Holt simply converted most of his 2005 base salary into signing bonus. He still gets the same amount of money, but nearly $2.1 million of it gets spread out over the remaining five years of Holt's contract for cap purposes. The move saves the Rams nearly $1.8 million in cap space for this year.

Between the Pace deal and the Holt restructuring, the Rams suddenly find themselves with about $6.1 million in cap room. Only 11 teams in the league had more cap room at the start of this week.
