That's what I don't understand about the Wii concerning like Madden, NBA 2k7, etc. Get your lazy ass outside and do it fo' real. I can understand the other games though.

so it makes it less fun because you're doing more than just hitting buttons?

Is there the option to not have to jump around? I see what some hardcore players look like in the game stores. They look like they are straining just to keep their cells dividing.

phattymatty

from what i've seen you don't even have to stand up for madden, it's mostly just different hand motions with the remote.

To me, yeah...then again, I see the point of not being able to have people get together all at the same time and play.

I dunno, it's just my opinion. Of course I'd have to play Madden on the Wii to be behind the opinion 100%.

Mad-Lad

a friend of mine gave me Guitar Hero II for the PS2 on sunday night.

i'm addicted as all hell.

phattymatty

i still haven't been able to find a Wii.  sold out everywhere.

I figured out the issues with the injuries for madden 07. turned out my memory card got corrupted when my PS2 frooze, therefore leading the injuries to not work on my franchise.  so i had to erase all my files and start all over again.  i downloaded the updated rosters from madden mania. the new long snapper for the birds is on there.  :-D

My little brother has been obsessed with getting a PS3, he called Walmart yesterday and they were in stock, so he bought one.

Up until now I've resisted the urge to play any of the Lego Star Wars game. Well, someone bought me Lego Star Wars 2 for Christmas and it's fun as hell.

yeah i went to Best Buy the other day when they opened up thinking I could snag a Wii, they had none, but they had a whole shteinload of PS3s.  Dude told me they were like $699.  that is retarded.

I tried to talk my brother into getting a 360 but he didn't want to hear it. Told him that Blu Ray is gonna be just like Betamax, but since he wasn't alive when that was competing with the VCR he thinks I'm making it up. The Wii seems to be the more popular console right now.

Blu ray is going to be good. It has a much higher capacity than HD DVD and regular DVDs and has great picture quality. Right now the 360 is the best system because it has the most and best games, but the PS3 is going to be a hell of a system. Games like MGS4, Final Fantasy XIII and Versus. All 3 systems IMO are going to do very well.

I'd recommend a 360 right now over all systems, but down the road, probably PS3.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

To stay true to SD's comparison, Betamax quality was much better than VHS as well.  Doesn't mean that blu-ray won't do well, but being higher quality is not a guarantee.

Ultimately people are going to buy the best 'gaming system', that's why I think the Blu Ray feature in the PS3 is a waste. If they didn't add it and just featured a regular DVD player than they'd probably sell as many units and be able to cut costs considerably.
My brother tried arguing that Blu Ray is the next thing and DVDs are going to be like VHS tapes, I just don't see that coming about. First off I can get a DVD for $10-15 whereas on Blu Ray it's going to run $30. I can't imagine people rebuilding their movie library because they suddenly have a PS3 with a Blu Ray player. Also, it's not like every household has a Hi-Def T.V. handy to hook it up too.

I thought it was going to hurt their sales too, but every single PS3 unit sold that was shipped at launch. $600 isn't what it used to be and now kids in their teens can afford that with some weeks of work at minimum wage.

But regular DVDs definitely won't be obsolete. Companies may focus more on HD DVD and Blu Ray, but DVDs won't be obsolete. At least not for a long long time.

Eventually everything's obsolete.

Heck, in my short 36 years:

Music:
- records
- casette tapes
- 8-tracks
- mini-tapes

Movies
- reel-to-reel (When in college, I had to learn to thread one of these in an education class.  Was even graded on it.  Never used one.)
- SpectraVision
- VHS (I still have a VCR.  Why?  I don't know.)
- Beta
- Laser Disc

Video Games:
- Odyssey
- Pong
- Atari
- Intellivision
- Colecovision
- Nnitendo (and successors)
- Sega
- PS1
- DreamCast
- PS2
- X-Box

Computers:
- My first computer was a Vic-20.  That's all that really needs to be said.

Playstation has a huge fanbase, it's no shock they sold every unit. What I'm saying is in the long run nobody's gonna give two shteins which system has Blu Ray or not, it's going to be games that ultimately define the console.
