it definitely has a better game library

i also like that it's compatible with windows media center.  i've got it hooked up to my wireless network so i can view any pictures and music/video files on my tv instead of my laptop.  made it nice over the summer when family came to visit and wanted to see pictures of everything that's gone on in the last year since i last saw them.  instead of cramming around my laptop, i just pulled them up through xbox and watched them on my tv.  was pretty damn nice.

i never did figure out the part where you're supposd to be able to use your computer as a dvr and i've pretty much given up on that now that directv hooked me up with a free dvr upgrade.  i called xbox and microsoft tech support i don't know how many times and most of the people i spoke with kept telling me that wasn't even a function of the xbox but it says that it is on the xbox website.

oh well, other than that i've been quite pleased with the xbox.  streaming movies from my netflix is also a nice feature too.

you can do the same exact thing with the ps3.

I really liked the Batman game. My son REALLY loves the Batman game....that's now who he'll be for Halloween.

I think PS3 is the better deal. It may not have the dominance xbox has on the market and game library but its more bang for your buck and more reliable. Superior machine, blue ray dvd, free online gaming, built in wireless, you can stream all your music and videos from your PC to the PS3 wireless. They just lowered it to $299 as well. If you would of asked me 3 years ago, I would of told you Xbox, but the price drop and the benefits you get from the PS3 to me, seem like a much better value with added reliability of the PS3.

the main difference between the two is playing online.  Xbox is a pay service, but far superior to PSN.  If you dont plan on playing online, i'd say go PS3 for blueray, as most people just end up using it mainly for blueray

Or, you can buy whatever has games you like.

you can actually pick up the xbox for 199.  it's the low end model, but it's been at that price for at least a year.  i think their high end model is still around 399 though.

i'm just pimping the xbox because i want to be online friends with dio.....away from this place.

the only hockey i've ever played on a video game is the one from the nes and that was because i liked the fights more than actually playing hockey.

dl the demo then sarge, you'll love the fights this year.  You get knocked out, can turtle, and its all first person view.  Pretty cool.  Takes a bit to get used to it though.

Blockbuster doesn't get Operation Flashpoint in til Friday. Read a review on it and its def not your typical run and gun 1st shooter. very strategy driven. you have to carefully make decisions, otherwise you could be set back a half hour to an hour with checkpoint, due to focus on realism. only negatives were that and that the command menus can be a pain in the ass, all while getting shot at etc...but they did say co-op campaign is fun. multi-player was mentioned as decent as well. prob still give it a rent on friday or later.

Got madden 10, well it was a gift. I can't stand it when the computer makes a reception, whenever I go to switch players to make a tackle it picks a player I don't want, always! Its so frustrating. The old maddens, were spot on everytime, I could tell what player would be picked. So I pick a guy expecting him to move in a certain direction, I get another and go the wrong way. I guess I just need to adjust to this. also seems like when you have a defender close its sometime hard to control him to make a tackle. just all seems very loose and or slow. not realistic at all. again prob something i just need to adjust to since i havn't played much of the next gen versions. i miss the good ol days of madden
