characters are what make tarantino movies imo....and in django i never looked at those two guys as anyone other than jamie foxx and samuel l jackson...

at least samuel l was being like he is in every movie...couple times his yelling made me think snakes on a plane....

but jamie foxx sounded like he sounds when hes doing an oprah interview....hes just a terrible actor

terrible is a strong word

I thought he did very well in any given sunday, law abiding citizen and collateral. these are far from great movies but he was believable and entertaining in all 3. seeing him in any kind of pre civil war flick is kind of bothersome to me because I don't think he has the face or voice for it. I'm prejudging him here with this movie because I haven't seen it yet, but even the trailers through me off with him.

foxx is a talented mimic.  i'll give him that.  he's also a terrible actor.  but then again there's only maybe 50 truly great actors alive today and they don't appear in mainstream hollywood movies all that often.  that's why we get zesty original movies 99% of the time.

Foxx was good in Ray from what I remember

people sucked him off because he was playing a beloved blind guy....but watch it again....its actually kind of painful

He was great in Ray because he was mimicking the guy.  Again... he's brilliant at that.  If anyone thinks he's a great actor, take a gander at Miami Vice because that shtein is/was painful.

You were expecting Miami Vice to be good otherwise?

The man. The myth. The legend.

This is 40 wasn't awful. Good for some laughs, kill 90 minutes.

With Michael Mann directing it?  Yes.  Marginally good.

I can't stand Colin Farrell even a little bit and Foxx as Ricardo Tubbs was absolutely absurd.

if it was 90 minutes it might be ok....but it was like 2.5 hrs long....thats apatows biggest problem....his movies are way to long

love Django, but like others have said it was a bit too long.  not sure what i'd cut to make it shorter because it was all good leading up to the ending.  spoiler:  i lost interest when Schultz died, a great Tarantino ending would have been Django to get assassinated in that foyer scene when they had him surrounded and they did a slow zoom out top angle.  Gun shots, movie over.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

saw searching for sugarman the other day....really good documentary about rodriguez. knew a little of the story already but didn't know nearly how big he was in south africa. definitely worth watching.

Zero Dark 30 - Read the book, saw the documentaries, saw the made for TV movie...but this was the best recreation of the story. It starts from the beginning with how they found out about Abu Ahmed and the intelligence and process they used to get Bin Laden. Definitely worth watching.

Lincoln - Good story, good acting, lagged too much for me at parts.

Ted- Pretty funny, the Flash Gordon stuff had me rolling.

The Cabin in the Woods - Different twist on a horror film. Overall worth watching.

Hunger Games - was really enjoying it until my copy crapped out about 3/4 the way through.

Predators - mindless action. Good for an early Saturday morning flick.

The raid itself is really just the finale. The movie is 2 1/2 hours long but the raid only takes a half hour or so.
