Be Cool -
Ok, so I finally saw Get Shorty for the first time just a few weeks back.  I noticed this was available on demand for free, so I thought, why not?  Not bad, but not as good as Get Shorty (which was slightly better than ok).  But you all probably already knew that

Also, Christina Milian would farging get it.

Sucker Punch -
So, I dont know who this movie is supposed to be made for.  Its got some crazy special effects and mindless action, so it would seem to scream for young males.  But then it also has a neo-femisit theme and a soundtrack to match, which would make it seem its for angry chicks.  All I know is there a five hotties prancing around in stripper\school girl outfits killing people, so it made for a decent movie to kill time on a plane. If you want to shut your brain off for 2 hours, why not.  Just don't expect to have intellectual conversation about what you just watched and and what it was trying to say about the current state of global politics.

Also, Jamie Chung would farging get it.

The Warriors way -
This movie had a chance, it had a lot of the right elements. Actions scenes with a lot of blood?  Check.  Ninjas in the wild west?  Check.  Tounge in cheek humor? (The ninja that comes to America runs an old west dry cleaner for christ sake)  Check.  A midget named 8-ball?  Check.  But it never delivered. Its like it tried to be too much and never found itself.  At least I got to see some clowns (literally, clowns) get shot to death.   Dont spend money on it.

Also, Kate Bosworth would farging get it.

Jackboots on Whitehall-
WTF.  How did this get in my queue, and why did I watch it.  A "comedy" about what would happen if Germany was able to invade GB in WW2.  With Puppets.  After 30 minutes I couldnt delete it from my tablet fast enough.

Also, Im not giving it to a puppet, I don't care how long its been.

i watched a shtein ton of movies in the last few days.

transformers 3 - stupid but fun, just like all of them. only part that really annoyed me is when they left dc in a car and ended up in chicago like 5 minutes later. the rest was totally realistic.

super - really good. dwight from the office and ellen page were both great.

larry crowne - meh. not bad but nothing exciting.

the change up - i heard nothing but horrible things about this movie. i was super baked but i laughed a lot. more than i have at a movie in a while. lots of penis jokes and i love jason bateman. and olivia wilde might be my new number one.

superheroes - documentary about real life super heroes. basically a bunch of nerds who call the cops on people. worth watching just to make you feel better about yourself.

planet of the apes - meh. not super fun. and james franco can eat a cock.

Though Rise of the Planet of the Apes was pretty good

i didn't hate it, just thought it was a lot of buildup for a 25 minute monkey escape.

The man. The myth. The legend.

Tomahawk

The mokeys escape and find Jesus?! Do they repent or is there a battle royale?

PoopyfaceMcGee

The apes battle the zombies from "I Am Legend," and Will Smith guts James Franco like a pig, then promptly blows his own head off with a shotgun.

saw a few movies on vacation and this past weekend:

Limitless - tried to be a little too stylish for my liking, the story also kind of jumped around and then it the movie just ended, it was weird.

Pope of Greenwich Village - another movie that just kind of ended weidly.  Eric Roberts was a farging clown in it.

The Lincoln Lawyer - pretty good movie, but wasn't hard to figure out.  They tried to out twist themselves though and turned a pretty good movie into an overreaching pain in the ass.

True Grit - was hoping it would be better.  it was pretty boring for the most part.

but the chick in it was HOT, right? RIGHT?!?

Rome

I watched Barry Levinson's documentary on Hollywood celebrity & politics, "Poliwood" this morning.  Very interesting.  When Hollywood celebrities come off as the sane (sorta) and open-minded (for the most part) involved in the political process, you know this country's teetering on the brink.

What struck me most was how positive and hopeful they all seemed in 2008 regarding Barack Obama and how prescient Levinson's comments were regarding future polarization of both sides seems now.  He sure was dead-on accurate about that.

Solid A-

but the chick in it was hot, right?  right?

Chumscrubber.  A little behind on this perhaps, but I really liked it.

13 Assassins.  Samurai flick from Japan.  Took a while to get to the action, but boy was it worth it.  30+ minutes of blood and body parts.
