I'm surprised to hear people bash District 9.

one person has.....in the world

the hangover was definitely funny but isnt even close to the great comedies...i maybe could even watch it again but i scolded my girl when she wanted the dvd for xmas

and reese youre a jerkoff for thinking the hangover has some sort of deep intellectual humor that people wouldnt understand...its moronic comedy for teenagers and idiots...

we arent talking about the daily show here

ok, so the hangover isn't unfunny like mussa suggests but it def doesn't hold the re-watch value that sunny says either.  i saw it and laughed my ass off but it's definitely not one of those comedies that retains it's laugh factor very well.

on point
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

here we go...yep cause all re-watchable comedy movies have to have deep intellectual humor. cmon you were beating off to hannah montana.

For once I agree with IGY on a movie. If anything it was so painfully obvious they were trying to make it funny in a subtle way. It wasn't anything original.

theres tons of rewatchable comedies that are moronic...in fact you can probably count on one hand the number of truly intellectual comedies ever made...and no matter how smart youre trying to portray yourself as the hangover definitely isnt one of them

"inglorius bastiches - typical tarantino movie that you really enjoy when youre watching it but when its over youre kind of disapointed...the writing 10/10...the acting 10/10 but somehow the movie falls short of the sum of its parts..."

Perfectly encapsulation of my feelings about the movie.
Although I just watched  Kill Bill 1 & 2 for the first time in 5 years or so. I forgot how amazing this movie is, especially the first one.

What I remember most from Kill Bill is that Uma Thurman has some hideously ugly feet.

District 9 -- bad on a '98 Eagles level

Even the worst B movie isn't that bad

district 9 - very good movie and outside of star wars probably the best sci fi movie ever (not a sci fi fan at all)...i dont necessarily agree with mmh that it jumped the shark but it did turn into transformers part 3 for a hot minute but in the end i think it saved itself...it came back nicely with a solid ending that clearly is a sequel waiting to happen....the picture was an allegorical B movie but a very well made b movie...the special effects were especially good i thought and sharlto copley was terrific

it had so many other movies woven into it...at times i thought i was watching city of god....other times blackhawk down...then a zombie movie...overall an excellent concept that resulted in a good movie

7.5/10

paul blart: mall cop - i love kevin james and i love nick bakay (penned the movie) even more but this was straight garbage...i realize it was trying to be awful but it could have had a few laughs along the way due to the comedic talent involved but it  just didnt...how this became one of the suprise hits oflast summer is beyond me

2.5/10

We saw it in the movies and my lasting impression was some big bitch behind us screaming "YOU GO PAULLLLL!" the whole damn time.

that's not what the judge said, after he was removed from the audience

I watched The Hangover last night. I laughed pretty consistently throughout, but it might be the most overhyped comedy of all time. I was expecting to laugh out loud or be surprised into a big laugh at some point and it just never happened. I had serious lose-my-shtein, laugh out loud experiences at Wedding Crashers, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Knocked Up and even farging Bruce Almighty. That never happened here. It was definitely funny, but I think my expectations were way too high going in.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?
