I didn't know they had Sbarro franchises outside of airports.

Tomahawk

I didn't know Sbarro is Italian food; I thought it was Mexican

so i just read reviews of drag me to hell from boston globe - ny times - variety - usa today - inky and washpo

they all universally liked it and reviews ranged from very good to great...led by the post (not s hunter unfortunately) who absolutely raved about it  http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/05/28/AR2009052803698.html saying even for a horror movie it has an ending that will make you lose your mind

long story short i just bought my tickets for tomorrow night and cant wait...is there anything better than a really good horror movie?

i think not
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

speaking of...what was the last good horror movie made?

Sgt PSN

good horror is kind of an oxymoron since there's almost no such thing.

i never really got into the horror genre at all.  usually because the acting is terrible, the writing tends to be even worse and most horror films follow the exact same formula.  it's a very small box they work in and very few ever try to step outside of it.  and those that do, usually fail miserably.

theres been several good ones id say the last great one was 2004 and dawn of the dead

however is bug a horror or a psychological thriller?...if its the former then thats the last great one..i think its the latter...whatever it is its on the short list of best movies this decade

the descent and the host were also both excellent but i dont know that id label them in the great category...its a close call

although I tend to agree, I cant even remember the last horror movie that even gained solid recognition from reviews let alone heads that wanted to talk about it the day after.

shtein...the last recent horror movie I saw that was even remotely decent was the first Saw. As much as it hurts rj and crew, I cant get down that much with the zombie movies.

Im still waiting for someone to top the Exorcist...is it that hard 16 years later?
