i saw Iron Man last night.  it was pretty good.  one of the better comic book movies to come out in a while.  my only complaint is that there was not nearly enough ass kicking.  took a little longer than i expected for iron man to even happen.  but i liked it.

and i was the only person in the whole theater.  i had to go pee around mid-movie and since i was alone i went into a soda cup.

i guess they always lump previews together according to the movie, but every single preview was for another comic book movie.  the hulk, the spirit, etc. except for indiana jones, but that looks good too.

comic book type movie fanboys are probably the most reliable and powerful movie going demographic there is right now

On the Iron man thing I had heard that Marvel was pissed about the way Spiderman III was messed up by the theater so they went out and got some investors to provide fundage so they could make the movies their way with no interferance. Iron Man and the hulk are the first two movies. The thing I don't think will work is that they're planning to make the Marvel universe all connected so Iron man could run into Spider man. That's when it seems like it will get stupid but who knows...

Pissing in a cup in the movie theater.... Classic!

there is supposedly a conflict between Marvel and Ed Norton on the running length and final cut of Hulk...

either way, they have already set a release date for Iron Man 2, Captain America, and another movie and it's all going to lead up to The Avengers movie

When I was 15 I went to see Juice with a bunch of friends. I got into the theater just fine but went to take a leak, the ticket guy wouldn't let me back in because I didn't have I.D. I got my refund and walked around while my friends watched the movie. This was before the age of cell phones so when one of them came out to see what happened I told them I wasn't permitted back in but to enjoy the film. Fast forward to one year later, one of the friends that was with me gets a job at said movie theater. His main job was concessions. He told me the guy that wouldn't let me back in was 19 and was a real dickhead. So I had him get me the guys schedule. I went to the middle of the top row in an almost empty theater and took the longest leak of my life. I left almost immediately but I swear it had trickled almost halfway down by that point. What was even more perfect was my buddy was going off his shift. So he walked into the theater like he was looking for someone's lost jacket, then reported it smelled like urine. The guy that wouldn't let me in was put in charge of clean up duty so he had to sit there and clean my piss under seats and different rows. I briefly thought about taking a dump but I don't know if I could have went through with it. 16 years later and I still get a revenge boner when I think about it.

Never realized pissing in theaters was so common...

Either way, bodifly fluids often find themselves leaking out in the theater.

'Vegas' Hits the Jackpot
Kutcher, Diaz Come Up Winners in Deft Comedy

By Stephen Hunter

Yet more evidence that the end of the world is near: Ashton Kutcher is about to become a major movie star.

It hurts all of us, I know, but my generation worst of all. As we settle into dotage and senility, do we need to be reminded how at 20-something he married one of the most beautiful women of our generation (Demi Moore), how before he was 30 he became a household name and produced a hugely popular show ("Punk'd"), how he is loved and adored by just about everyone?

(On the good news front, at least there's this: Like all golden lads must, he, too, will turn to dust.)

Not that "What Happens in Vegas" is any kind of great movie, but it's an exceedingly bright comedy that never makes you feel stupid for enjoying its brisk pacing, smart lines, sound construction and superb comic acting, not only from the annoyingly accomplished Kutcher but from Cameron Diaz and well-chosen No. 2 bananas Rob Corddry and Lake Bell.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Saw a couple movies over the last week or so....

Beowolf - I'm not usually a fan of animated/cgi type movies if it's not a kid's movie but the animation of this movie was rediculous and the most life like that I've seen so far.  I loved the book when I was a kid and really enjoyed seeing the characters brought to life.  3.5/5

Blood Diamond - Awesome.  Awesome.  Awesome.  It's crazy how over the last 10+ years I've gone from hating any movie with Leonardo Di Caprio to really enjoying his work.  It was a bit on the long side but easily worth it.   Jennifer Connelly = bonerz.  4.5/5

MDS

he was always a good actor, its just that titanic nonsense resulted in every 13 year old girl in the world fawning over him. after that, he started doing a steady string of scorsesse movies and stuff like blood diamond, and those same girls have now turned into sex and the city whores, endlessly in search of the next pair of shoes to buy and next basketball player to farg.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
