Butchers Bill

I believe I've passed the age of consciousness and righteous rage
I found that just surviving was a noble fight.
I once believed in causes too,
I had my pointless point of view,
And life went on no matter who was wrong or right.

that looks better than the first one

Legend was very good, imo, i didn't have great expectations going in due to some of the reviews but i don't really have anything negative to say about it.  Will Smith did a really good job when he had to carry the movie himself.  Most of the reviews made comments about "then it turned into a zombie movie" which it did to a degree, but when it did it fit with the plot of the movie, i didn't feel that it was out of place or forced.

Dark Knight trailer = bad ass

Will Farrell basketball trailer = hilarious

Adam Sandler hair stylist trailer = abortion, i almost started yelling at people for actually laughing
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

Seriously, that Dark Knight trailer, in all of its zesty quality, made me nearly sprout wood.  I really didnt like the photo's of Ledger as the Joker, but in that short intro, he seems to pull it off.  The massive smile is awesome

So, just saw I Am Legend. First of all, the part of the movie that I was expecting to like the least, Will Smith, was the best part. He was fantastic and I never expected to like him. Second, as noted before, this movie could have been legendary. The first 2/3 was so well done and borderline terrifying at parts. And then, for no discernible reason, they decided to rush the end and completely ignore the plot-lines with the infected humans that were developing. There were so many directions to take the story and they just jumped over all of that and said, 'Eh, let's just call it a day.'

The ending was so disappointing that I don't know how to rate it. It actually makes me wish that someone else had adapted/directed it. Keep Will Smith, make it 20 minutes longer to explain/explore the infected humans and this could have been an all-time-great.

(Also, even the short Dark Knight trailer was sick. I almost wish I hadn't seen it because now I don't want to wait 8 months to be able to watch the movie.)

I just finished watching Hairspray with my kids & now all I can think about is how to lure Amanda Bynes into the basement dungeon I'm building.

I finally saw Knocked Up...

Good laughs, I enjoyed it. I was hoping for a shot of Heigl's tits though

She is fargin smoking hot. If she would just slut herself out some more she might be my new favorite.

Oh, and you're gay for watching Hairspray. Please hand in your balls at the nearest bar. They'll hold them for you until you figure out how to use them properly.

thats my review of the movie too.

i kept thinking of all the ways they might take it but they never do and just kind of end it. i wonder if they tried to make it short on purpose. i have heard movie studios pressure directors into making movies shorter, or editing them shorter, so the mass audience find it acceptable and they can play more timings for it.

btw i think the movie took a nose dive when... SPOILERS:

that girl and her boy show up...they really take the air out of the last man alive aura going on. they also then take away from what could have been a cool end shot with the colony in vermont.

i also did not like how they tried to justify the movies title with the very last few narrated words....

the original story/novella ends with roberts character realizing that to the vampires (the mutants are vampires in the original) are actually afraid of him because he hunts and kills them during the day...similar to how vampires are legends to humans since they come out at night and kill humans. thats why its called what it is because he realizes to them he is legend. also in the book robert realizes that the vampires are actually compassionate, intellectual, and human like. the movie threw all that out and made them into mindless zombies. still it could have been taken into great directions even as zombies and i thought it was going there but then the ending just came.

lastly i thought the flashback scenes were done effectively and the bombing of the brooklyn bridge was shock and awe!
Marge: I have someone who can help you!
Homer: Is it BATMAN!!??
Marge: No hes a scientist
Homer: Batman is a scientist.
Marge: Its not BATMAN!

American Gangster- good not great.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I bought the book a few weeks ago and I think it is going to be the next one on my list if I ever finish Gravity's Rainbow. What you've described would have made for a far more interesting and meaningful ending.

The flashback scenes were phenomenal. Couldn't have been done any better.

Rome

Watched The Bourne Ultimatum yesterday.  I got the Best Buy special edition that has a bonus features disc as well as the movie.

Definitely spend the extra four bucks, guys.  It's worth it.

Also - we're going to see Legend tomorrow afternoon.   I really wish I hadn't read rjs's review now.
