Besides the bevy of old and boring movies, these newer ones on the top 100 make me angry:

Toy Story - Yes, it was mildly amusing.  Yes, it broke ground in computer animation.  But it is not one of the best 100 movies ever.
Titanic - Ugh.
Lord of the Rings - Unwatchable crap.

I basically agree with this.

Toy Story was alright, but it's not even Pixar's best effort.

I may be the only American to have not watched Titanic, and I will continue that status.

The Lord of the Rings was technically on in my house, but I cannot claim to have watched it.  It bored me to sleep within about 30 minutes.

It would suck so bad to have to feign gay around a mostly-naked Jessica Biel.  I don't know which of my heads would explode first.

That chubby english sloth of an actress is half naked in pretty much ever movie she's ever been in. There is no need to sit through three hours of crap for a 2 minute payoff of sub par breasts.

Who the farg said I sat through the whole movie?  I watch the scene where she gets naked and then turn it off.  I'll let you figure out why, asshat.

I have a higher opinion of Kate Winslet's acting and beauty than you, but I still agree.  Seeing any pair of breasts in a movie for a few minutes is not worth a three-hour movie, if the rest of it is crap.

To be fair, I don't really think Titanic was that awful, but looking back, it was middle-road performances from two great actors in DiCaprio and Winslet and over-the-top special effects.  I just can't imagine there aren't 100 better movies.

ice grillin you

the special effects in titantic were unreal and not at all over the top...the seamlessness btwn the cgi and the real stuff was amazing...and i despise cgi more than anyone

if anything hurt the movie is was dicaprio who hacked it up the entire time...he was brutal

I'll concede comment one because comment two is exactly on point.  Frankly, it was "Titanic" that made me think I never wanted to see DiCaprio in anything ever again.

He's since won me back with "The Aviator", "The Departed", and "Blood Diamond", though.  I think he's actually just a much better actor now than he was a decade ago.

Did either of you read The Hobbit, or the trilogy for that matter? I think anyone that read those books would enjoy the movies. I only ever read The Hobbit, I hope they make a movie out of it too.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Read them all as a kid.  The first movie sucked, didn't watch the other two.

To be fair, though, my wife loved them.

I read all of the above, yes.
