Just watched The Lives of Others. A German film about Eastern Block Berlin and the intellectuals who become pseudo treasonous by writing something anti-socialist. Blah blah blah, it was really good. The lead actor was fantastic, in fact.

4/5

there are a few movies i want to see

28 Weeks Later
Knocked Up
Die Hard 17
Transformers

Mr. Brooks looks like it could be good, but it has Kevin Costner in it, so the odds are against that.

I had no desire to see Knocked Up based on the trailers, but after catching this deleted scene, I may have to.

Like the 40 year old virgin by the same guy, the deleted scenes will be better then the movie.

Jaws was on this evening. What a great movie. Stand up to the test of time really well.

Shrek 3 - 3/5 - Not horrible, but not up to the standards of 1 & 2.  Kids still liked it though.

The Hunger - 3/5 - Would be higher, but I read the book before seeing the movie, the movie totally butchers the plot of the book.  Stylish and creepy, in an early 1980's fashion.  Catherine Deneuve and David Bowie as modern day vampires.  Worth watching simply for the (pretty hot for '83) lesbian seduction scene between Deneuve and a young Susan Sarandon:o

Absolutely, Jaws is easily one of the best movies of all time.

The Good Shepherd - 1.5 out of 5

Holy shtein was that movie plodding and uneventful. I actually thought about turning it off at one point. Angelina Jolie was miscast too. I do like John Turturro as an actor though.

I have Borat, Rocky Balboa and The Pursuit of Happiness to watch this week though. I'll pick up Blood Diamond and The Last King of SCotland or whatever it is next week.

Pirates 3 - 3/5 - if you liked the first two you'll like this one. Not bad but nothing to write home about.
