ive seen both of them...my girl wants to be violated by johnny depp so i have no choice

Mine has a thing for Geoffrey Rush and will not admit to her Depp fixation, so I'll be going to that one too. And annoying the shtein out of her by saying "take a drink!" every time someone says pirate.

The man. The myth. The legend.

It's just as fictional as if a movie were written about IGY using his real name, describing him a black guy from the ghetto.  Just because the person "Kenny O'Donnell" existed and even in a general realm as the character in the movie is meaningless.  If the character was blatantly inserted into places in history he didn't belong and was a "composite" of other people, it's a made-up character.

Thank god someone else took the time to type out the obvious.

For God's sake, it wasn't a documentary, FF.  It was a fictionalized version of historical events.  They used O'Donnell as a window for displaying the events that transpired during the Crisis.  Filmmakers do it all the time.

I didn't argue that it wasn't a valid way to make a film.  However, it's more correct to call Costner's character *made-up* than *real*.  Any idiot can see that.

exactly it happens all the time in far less truthful movies than this one

in fact robert mcnamara said that thirteen days is almost a docmumentary in terms of its portrayal of how the crisis went down and how it was dealt with inside the white house...people did and said the same things kenny odonnell did in the movie...it just wasnt kenny odonnell

its ironic that rjs would like 300 better than thirteen days considering 300 is an absolute hatchet job in terms of realistically portraying the battle of thermonucleardioronniejamiss

if you dont like kevin costner then i guess you wouldnt like the movie...i dont understand how people can dislike a movie because a certain actor is in it...my girl does that all the time and it annoys the shtein outta me
i can take a phrase thats rarely heard...flip it....now its a daily word

igy gettin it done like warrick

im the board pharmacist....always one step above yous

I don't give a shtein about things being realistic. Some of my favorite movies are Star Wars, LOTR and horror flicks. Realism is not a requirement for entertainment and 300 certainly didn't bill itself as a realistic movie.

13 Days was neither entertaining nor realistic. Therefore, hate.

13 Ghosts might actually be the worst movie ever made.

Saw Shrek 3 this afternoon.  A complete waste of $24.50.   Just like any other sequel, they added even more characters trying to freshen things up a bit.  The whole reason Shrek 1 was excellent was because of the chemistry of Myers & Murphy and Shrek & Donkey weren't even together for most of Shrek 3.

Just awful.  I usually hate sequels and this piece of shtein is no different.  A big, fat stinking 1/5.

i can understand why adults liked the 1st one and why adults see the 2nd and 3rd ones, but it really is a kids movie at it's core and they don't give a shtein about new characters, in fact they probably like them

Nah - they mailed it in, Mo.  A lot of what made Shrek excellent was the inside jokes, sight gags, etc.  They were creative with them in the first movie and to a lesser extent the second.  This movie it seemed as though they didn't even bother.  They knew they were going to make a ton of money regardless of what they put up on the screen so they just mailed it in.

Sad.

but that's my point, you know they mailed it in, but you're not who they're making money off of, little 7 year olds don't know they mailed it in, they just saw a new Shrek, with new characters (read:  toys to buy) and another DVD to buy in 6 months.

they know they don't have to put in half the effort they did originally and they'll still make a shtein load of money.

My kid was more excited to see the poster for Ratatouille than she was for Shrek 3.  I can't say I blame her either.  I'm actually looking forward to seeing that movie.

Looks hilarious.

I saw something called Artemesia in my International Cinema class. It was okay, I guess. If you like movies in French with close up shots of some dudes wang. There was also plenty of tits, ass and vagine, but still. They really got in there.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.
