Anyone seen a good movie lately?

I almost forgot (should say something right there) that I watched "Smokin' Aces" earlier this week.  It was basically what I expected, although for some reason I thought there would be more humor, both intentional and unintentional.

Good:
Ryan Reynolds' acting - well, maybe it wasn't "good" but much better than I expected
lots of people getting shot
Alicia Keys is hot
SPOILER Ben Affleck and Jeremy Piven die.

Bad:
Jeremy Piven doesn't even try to be funny, and "serious acting" isn't really his thing
Alicia Keys can't act for shtein
Andy Garcia completely mails it in and does this horrendous southern accent
SPOILER The plot twist at the end of the old mobster actually being the FBI agent from back in the day and also Jeremy Piven's dad is dumb on top of dumb.

after puttin in much work i finally talked my girl out seeing spiderman 3 in the theater (thus making it so i dont have to go)

however in order to do so i had to agree to see pirates 3

I had to pass up seeing Hot Fuzz to go see that. Clearly, I lost.

the reviews have been just brutal...i read one last week that said it could be up for the razzie

it had it's moments where it was good, but the bad parts were flat terrible

It was laughably awful at points. Other points I just shook my head and said "white people." Even Bruce Campell's five minutes couldn't save it. Spiderman's entrance for the final fight scene was over the top awful. Sandman was done well, though.

That was cool. I thought the kid was starting to look a little like his father there, but maybe I imagined that. The goblin snowboard was a little silly.

Speaking of silly, the sound effects during the first Hobgoblin/Spiderman fight couldn't have been more cartoony.

i dont know what that exactly means without having seen it but he said its worse than the jazz club johnson

but yeah, he has the black suit, and it's making him this cheesy douchebag, he struts down the street, collar popped, checking out all the girls.

when it first happened, it was funny, this guy being a douche, trying to act cool...it was intentional in the movie for comedy, but then it just got really awful

smokin aces does nothing but try to mirror movies like, snatch, lock stock and pulp fiction, etc....etc....i just watched it. 2/5
