Anyone seen a good movie lately?

MI3:  Awful.  Sure, it keeps you somewhat interested with all the "neat" spy gadgetry and action sequences, but the last 20 minutes or so is a complete headscratcher - and not in a "smart movie" kind of way - more like, the viewer understands exactly what's occurred, but it's just downright stupid.  The first two are better.

Oh, and PSH's talents are mostly wasted, of course, in favor of giving Cruise more screen time.

2/5.

SPOILER:

It was already teetering on the brink before the fight scene where Cruise pushes PSH's character up into the car exactly like Keanu Reeves to Dennis Hopper on top of the subway in "Speed"... then the kicker - PSH's shoe comes flying back into the picture.  Just horrendous.  And pretty much everything that happens in the movie after that only gets worse and worse.  He has to say "I love you" before shorting out the charge in his brain, even though wasting those precious seconds should have cost him his life (if I cared enough, I'd go back and time from when PSH says he has 4 minutes to live)!  His nurse wife is handy with a gun!  He brings her in to meet all of his secret agent buddies, and they all live happily ever after!

farging ridiculous ending.  I was hoping Cruise would go batty-eyed like Keri Russell when the charge in her head went off.  That might have been the coolest part of the movie.

I plan on seeing it eventually, but after having just seen The Departed I am assuming that any movie I see in the theater will be a disappointment. So I'm going to wait.

Anyone who hasn't see it, do yourself a favor and go check it out. Best movie I've seen this year.

I am actually disturbed by how closely his opinions of movies mirror my own. I'm gonna go suck down some Drano now.

Havnt seen The Prestige yet, but I have no doubt it is a good flick. The Director is Christopher Nolan who pumped out Momento and Batman Begins.

You should be able to recognize a decent piece of filmmaking even if the subject matter doesn't interest you.

ice grillin you

theres was nothing special about the filmmaking and the subject matter was queerer than a three dollar bill...it was another overblown pretentious witless idiotic superhero bore-movie that are insults to intelligence...which comic fans do not generally have.....

i love when these movies try to get deep into human emotions...youre making a movie about a comic book chief...stick to that instead of trying to make yourself and your movie seem way more important than it really is

v for vendetta might be the all-time example of this kind of blow your brains out movie making
