Nothing finer than a hot woman drinking Johnnie Red...

Diomedes

I used to work for Diageo, the company that owns Johnnie Walker.  That bottle didn't get there by accident, or because the director or prop man thought it would fit best.  It got there by our marketing guy sleazing it up with their marketing guy.  A fine example of why I dislike most television and movies..they ARE advertisements.

The BIGSTUD

For the people here that saw Syriana... is there supposed to be subtitles on the bottom when the people speak arabic? There isn't on my DVD that I rented and I'm wondering if it's that way on purpose. I find it hard to believe they make you watch 5 minute scenes without knowing what the hell is being spoken.

I'll take it back and get a different DVD if it's supposed to.
Calling it right on the $ since day one.
Just pointing laughing, and living it up while watching the Miami Heat stink it up.

I watched Green Street Hooligans last night and loved it.  About this American kid (Elijah Wood) who gets kicked out of school and goes to England and ends up joing one of the soccer "firms", which are like the team gangs.  Lots of cool ass fight scenes and a pretty good story too.  One of the most fun movies that I've seen in a really long time.  The fighting was exciting, and there are a few tense moments, even a couple sad ones.  Anyway, some people will probably think it's dumb but I thought it was awesome.

Watched Caddy Shack last night. Haven't seen that movie in forever. Hard to get used to how 80's movies like this flow but still damn funny in spots. I've got to remember to get drunk when I watch this type of movie. It would be so much better that way...

The company I work for has a Hollywood agent who represents the 'product' for placement in movies and TV shows like an actor. All major brands do this sort of thing. Marketing is everywhere. I'm glad I have a TIVO so I can escape the commercialism sometimes. I haven't watches a TV commercial in months.

I rented "Match Point"... for my wife to watch while I'm drafting for CFFFL AFC tomorrow.

I'm going to see Disturbed tomorrow night.  I'd gladly trade Match Point for that.

Bill Simmons grades "Devil Wears Prada", "Talladega Nights", "Miami Vice", "Clerks 2", and "Invincible"

I gotta see "Invincible".

QuoteI liked Kinnear's portrayal of Vermeil, but he doesn't cry once. How is that possible? There better be a deleted scene on the DVD when he's bawling like a baby in the locker room. And while we're here, can we have a director's commentary where Vermeil alternately comments and sobs as he watches the movie?

QuoteFor the official verdict, we'll have to wait until HBO is showing it 900 times next August. In the meantime, I urge every Philly sports fan to see this movie -- you'll love the old Eagles footage, you'll love the scenes of Philly fans doing the whole down-in-the-dumps-at-a-bar thing, you'll love the footage of the city, and you even get a happy ending for once. Enjoy.

PE.com is selling tickets to the opening night for $125 each. The opening will be attended by Mark Wahlberg, Vince Papale & most likely some of the Eagles.

I was thinking about going but I need to buy my Cowboys & Panthers tickets next week.
