See Superman Returns in IMAX 3D like your life depends on it.  Seriously.

5/5 in IMAX 3D.

Probably more like a 3.75/5 in regular theater.

Maybe a 3/5 on DVD.

just came from superman...meh boring plot which felt like it had been done b4 in many superman movies and for a 2+hr movie it didnt feel like it answered much or developed much.

anyway it was fun but it was no BATMAN BEGINS.

Marge: I have someone who can help you!
Homer: Is it BATMAN!!??
Marge: No hes a scientist
Homer: Batman is a scientist.
Marge: Its not BATMAN!

You obviously didn't see it in IMAX.

I saw An Inconvenient Truth last night.  I hope a lot of people watch the movie.  It's sobering as all hell.  Sure, Exxon scientists disagree that human activity is melting the poles, etc.  But they're alone in that deliberate ignorance..the facts are clear as day.  shtein is farged up and getting worse.  Humans have to change if they want to survive.  Americans especially, given the disproportionate load they place on the earth.

Untrue.  Without debating much further, I hope we can both agree that the actual "truth" lies somewhere between the viewpoints of the industrial evils (ie: Exxon) and the treehuggers (ie: Al Gore).

Watched Taking Lives yesterday.  OK.  Angelina shows her boobs.

We'll have to agree to disagree then.  The "debate" on this issue is similar to the "debate" about evolution.  Christians and Oilmen promote the idea that there is a controversy, that doubt exists, that scientific consensus does not exist.  It's a good ploy.  An ignorant audience (Americans) makes it easy to sell.  But it's wrong.  Evolution is real, and so is the man-made crisis of global warming.  Gore probably understates the reality in his film.

BTW..what exactly is wrong with being a "treehugger?"  Who is harmed by protecting the environment?  Corporate profits, perhaps.  That's all I can think of.  Defending the environment is ultimately a defense of the people who depend upon it.

The movie was very good.  If you bothered to see Michael Moore's film(s) even though you dislike him, this is a better movie to do the same with.  At the very least, you'll see a conscise presentation of the treehugger thinking on the subject.

how would seeing it in a different format change the plot?

Come on man, China and other countries who do not have regulations are doing a ton of damage to this earth. Every country is doing it's share but to call out Americans as the target is a joke and your typical shot nonsense. Al Gore the loser should go pimp his movie to China, Russia, India and others.

Americans consume and pollute far more than any other nationality in the world.  That's a fact.  China requires more stringent mpg ratings for automobiles than the U.S.   I'm tired of arguing against your ignorance, phillymic.  You think Terri Schiavo was responding to people, you think evolution is some kind of athiest conspiracy against Christians, you think the U.S. is the paragon of all human civilization.

You're wrong on all counts.  Go back to the mall.

of course it's a fact. but the US also has more habital land than any other country in the world. you could argue china though. and the populations support that too. more people = more consumption.

You don't notice little things like the plot, because you're so taken aback from the visuals and sound.

Pretty much the biggest problem with America today is people who have to take everything to the extreme.  Refusing to agree on realistic versions of truth is why nothing will ever get done.  I've read several articles on both sides of the perverbial aisle for "Inconvenient Truth", and the only logical conclusion that a logical human being that cares about the planet, the economy, and the general well-being of mankind is that there is some truth to the film, and there is quite a bit also portrayed as science that is really conjecture.  Obviously, you saw the movie, and it did its job and convinced you that it's absolutely right about everything it presents.  Or, you went in with a pre-conceived notion about the world and global warming that already jived quite well, so you were an easy sell.  Either way, when you're far to the extreme as you are with this issue, one has to question how much logic and thought are forming your opinion and how much pre-formed personal beliefs and believing what you want to believe plays into it.

There simply isn't enough intellectual diversity in the debate over global warming. A few vocal individuals are quoted over and over again, when in fact there are a variety of opinions substantiated by science.
