I'm a purist sarge.  Blazing Saddles is one of the best comedies ever.

blazing saddles is good when youre 14 and can sit around and giggle at adult jokes with your buddies but it does not age well at all...in fact is pretty unfunny now

some parts are like that, like the silly puns and the ending (which i never liked)

but there are some great scenes that hold up

But there are good westerns without Wayne or Eastwood.  Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid and The Magnificent Seven for instance.
I still think the greatest of all time Unforgiven.

Unforgiven is one of my favorite movies of all time.  I completely forgot about Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid - good call.
