I saw that on HBO awhile back.  It was fair.  Reasonably entertaining, but it took itself pretty seriously but didn't deliver on the tone.

I saw Derailed on Sunday. Not perfect, but a decent action drama. 2.5 outa 4, worth a look if you got nothin better.

Saw Capote and Layer Cake this weekend.

Layer Cake was a crime caper sort of in the style of Lock Stock and Snatch. It was good, and I enjoyed it emensely, but it tried to interweave a plot-line or two too many and t was easy to lose track of who was doing what and why. I'll watch it a second time and probably enjoy it more, but would still give it a strong 3.5 or 4 out of five.

My favorite movie of all time is Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrells, followed closely by Snatch.

I usually don't care for people's opinions of movies because I usually find that no one has the same taste in movies I do...but I'll take 3.5 as enough to take a chance on it. I'll follow up once I see it.

Just got back from Walk the Line. It was good but after seeing Ray the two were too similar. Joaquin was very good, but didn't pull off the complete badassness of Johnny Cash as well as I would have liked. The fact is that I can come up with a lot of negative things to say about the movie but still enjoyed it thoroughly. Which is weird for me. but whatever. Worth a look see.

Thanks for the review  :yay I heard the movie's more of a love story centered around his life with June Carter. We were supposed to go see it lastnight but had one too many drinks at the bar.

How was Reese Witherspoon as June Carter? I didn't think she could pull it off but from what I've heard she's pretty good.

I'm not typically a big fan of Reese, but I thought she was really good. Basically, I wanted the movie to solidify Cash's image and reputation as an utter badass, but ti focussed more on the love story and his personal weaknesses. Typically hollywood and probably more interesting than watching 2 hours of wild boozing but I don't want to think of the man in black as anything other than the epitome of masculinity. The only musician who ever has, or ever will get me to listen to anything even remotely country.

The wife and I saw it last night as well.  Excellent movie.  They changed some things factually, but due to the lengths the books had gotten to be... it was inevitable.

Side note... saw the new trailer for the King Kong movie... movie looks damn good.

Kingdom of Heaven rivals Road to Perdition as the most boring movie ever.

Road to Perdition was awesome.

Same here, I'm used to her in the blonde bimbo role. I watched an interview with his son (imagine a middle aged wimp with a goatee) and he said the movie did a good job of portraying his parents life. Also said Phoenix and Witherspoon were perfect for the role. Like you, I want to see more of the crazy-rebellious-man-in-black-drunkard kicking ass and taking names. I just hope it's not too sappy for my taste.
