yeah, it was the storyline that got me, they totally revised the whole reason that the predators were on earth. all of the sudden the predators are responsible for the pyramids and the aliens existence? none of the Alien movies were ever based on earth anyway, why all of the sudden did they originate from earth?

Aliens and Predator were movies first, yes. Then the game AVP came out. The movie AVP is based on the gaming franchise, not on its preceding films.

Right, but it is certainly not simply "a movie based on a video game". It's more like "a movie based on a video game based two successful series of movies". Kind of a rare bird.

Mortal Kombat was an awesome video game movie. Man that was so good back when it came out. Now it probably sucks, but it was great back in the day.
