I love both the sci-fi/super hero genre and the fantasy genre. that said I haven't nor will i never dress up as either and go to some festival or comicon.

I mean, even I have standards.

Yet your screen name is based off a LOTR character. NERD!

I fully accept that label.

and while I may go to a comicon I will most likely go wearing a philly sports shirt and jeans. don't think id care enough to go to a renaissance fair of any sort.
If guns kill people then spoons made Rosie O'Donnel a fatass.

Yeah, I'm definitely not doing cosplay or any of that, but I do have a couple buddies who are pretty big into it...like one of them actually quit his very well paying job at the NRC to pursue full time costume making.  It's nuts but he's making some pretty big bucks making foam HALO guns and shtein.  Good on him.

I would definitely just wear a Trotter jersey and get my pic taken in front of the most prominent people and displays that are there.

Never been to a comicon, but I would definitely go to one of the bigger ones like SD or NYC.  Wish I would have gone to SD comicon when I was stationed in Cali.  That shtein is expensive though so unless I'm gifted some tickets, I doubt I'll ever hit one up.

Lived in SD for 9 years, was s gamer, room mate was a huge comic book fan/collector...neither of us knew comic con was a thing until we got out of the Navy.

2000 my downstairs neighbor had armor and wooden swords and shtein out on his back patio. He told me he was into knights and mock sword fighting. 75% sure this lightning bolt guy is him

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

I still don't get the hype about Get Out in terms of it's thriller/mystery factor. As far as the movie itself goes, it was ok and thought it was extremely predictable.

But the social messages it sends was outstanding and that's where the strength of this movie comes from.

Kinda like Wind River...the message is way better and more important than the movie itself.
