I saw "Man of the Year", i think .... the Robin Williams flick. It couldn't make its mind up wether it was a comedy, a thriller, or a romance. It ended up being none of the above. No secks, no merders, and few laughs. I didn't like it.
The NFL old standard.

i ripped through my DVR between friday and saturday....

Be Cool - nothing special, barely average, Vince Vaughn couldn't even save it

Team America, World Police - pretty lame, however puppet sex, puppet vomit, and the songs were funny

The Island - suprisingly good, good action, a decent story

The Longest Yard (remake) - ok, the original is much better, there were a few laughs in this one

The Machinist - very, very good movie.  Bale was incredible.  the best movie out of the bunch.
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

The Departed  :cfhead :cfhead :cfhead 3/4

Great movie to see, very satisfying. Wasn't too fond of the ending but that didn't ruin it.

My old lady watched "The Village," which has been much discussed here.  I suffered enough second-hand viewing to more than get the point.

Like most movies I've seen lately, it re-affirmed my distaste for the medium.  I'd rather play a video game or read a book.

OnDemand last night,

Slaughterhouse 5 - decent, similar to the book, but let out alot of information and dialogue that could of made it great. 3/5

The Bounty - Decent movie with lots of island boobies. Old school Mel Gibson, Liam Nielson, Daniel Day-Lewis and Anthony Hopkins. 2.5/5

There are good movies out there.  You have to be extremely selective, though.  Most of what Hollywood makes is homogenized dogshtein.  But occasionally, a good one sneaks through.

Shamylan has sucked since Sixth Sense.  And that wasn't great.
Anyone but Reid.

I'm sure there are fantastic movies.  I just don't care to find them.  Takes energy and time I'd rather put into music, or books.  Or making a new Fight Night champ.

Hittin up OnDemand again last night.

Swingers - classic 4.5/5
Would of gotten the full 5/5, but that gay swing dance scene at the end of the movie hurt it.

The Bounty is a great movie.  Very well done.  plus those hot tahitian babes!

saw Jack Ass 2 with the boy the other day.  He had fall break so we went to a matinee.  Place was empty.  I found the caliber of the audience intriguing.  Several older groups, meaning "OK folks I have an excuse here.  My kid dragged my ass here.  What in the hell are you doing here?" older.  Couple of hotties on dates.  I'm sure this is a great way to impress a chick, take her to Jack Ass.  My son laughed the entire time.  Except for the defecation scenes it had it's moments.  I did find myself cracking up.  Teeter Totter with the crazed bull was hilarious!

Watched Rashomon yesterday. It's a ?Chinese? movie from 1950 that was designed to explore the nature of truth through the telling of a rape/murder from four different points of view. The concept is interesting and the film won an Oscar, but jesus it was awful. Terrible acting. Terrible dialogue. Nearly unwatchable.

2/5 with the '2' based on concept alone.

Not prior to watching this flick, no.

Watched Thumb Wars and Lucky Number Sleven last night.

Thumb Wars is a spoof on Star Wars, is only about 45 minutes long and all of the characters are played by thumbs with upside down mouths and creepy eye superimposed over them. I thought it was pretty hilarious in a completely bizarre sort of way.

4/5

Lucky Number Sleven started out as an AWFUL movie. The first half hour or so was really really bad. The dialogue was designed to be clever and sharp and instead it was just hideously annoying. But after that the action picked up and there were some mildly interesting twists (none of which were hard to predict, but still) and it turned into a watchable movie.

3/5

"The Break-Up":  Meh.  Skip, unless you really like Vince Vaughn.  2/5

"American Dreamz":  Worse than meh.  Skip at all costs.  0.5/5
