I was a little put off from watching Army of Darkness that time, it was the director's cut. They replaced one of the best lines in the damn thing. "Good? Bad? I'm the one with the gun" became "I'm not that good."

I watched The Tenant (a Roman Polanski film) on Monday.

It was farging twisted and ultimately creepy and confusing. I'm becoming a bigger Polanski fan with each movie of his that I see. PLUS he digs underaged girls. And by 'digs', I mean 'bones'. What's not to like?

rent Repulsion next.

Yeah man, that movie is intensely good.  Also FF, while normally I respect your movie going opinion, giving The Ringer a  is way too generous.

The Ringer- 1. didnt make fun of retards enough 2. didnt show heigl naked 3. knoxville is a tool 4. still kinda enjoyable, somehow.

I dig all war/action movies but this one, regardless of the cast involved, was a joke with barely any action at all

The Da Vinci Code- For some reason, my friend said Kevin Pollack was in this. Thus, I eagerly waited and waited for him to show up. No dice. He lied. Still, thought it was okay. Would have been better if I read the book and could understand everything, but still got it for the most part.

hmm because war in reality is nothing like movies. and a single hero killing 1000's by himself never happens.  i don't think the movie was that bad. i think it was very realistic.  yea no action, but it doesn't make it bad because he didn't kill anyone.  it was based on a true story. so take it for what its worth. if you were expecting commando, then well you should of read a review or two.

Saw "X-Men - The Last Stand" today.  You know what?  This is what a movie should be.  Some good acting, a lot of kick-ass effects, very little to no thinking required.  This is why you go to the THEATER to see a movie.  Ian McKellen is a serious actor, and Hugh Jackman is way less annoying than in the previous ones.

The relatively poor acting of the "younger" X-Men and Oscar-winner Halle Berry, among some others, is the only thing holding this back from geting the full 5:

1/2 out of 5 if you see it in the theater

probably more of a 1/2 or out 5 on DVD

Watched The Battle of Algiers over the weekend.  It's an old movie, made in the 60s, about the revolution of the Algerians against French rule in the 1950s.  It's in black and white and subtitled, since it's in French and Arabic, and it was still awesome.

One of the best 'old' movies that I've ever seen, not that I've seen too many.  Very unbiased and a great story, the main character being a petty thief/boxer who rises up to be one of the leaders of the nationalist/terrorist group NLF.  Lots of killing and explosions, and to me it seemed way ahead of its time.  Anyway, highly recommended.  4/5
