I saw The Treasure of the Sierra Madre yesterday on the big screen.  Bogart rocks.

i watched Harlod and Kumar go to White Castle on saturday.

I laughed quite a bit. Pretty funny for a stoner flick.

in the "fart jokes are always funny" category, the "Battleshteins" scene had me rollin' :-D

that was even funnier when i watched the "making of a fart" special feature on the DVD :-D :-D

Awesome movie.  Also, the pot-bag daydreams and the one dream sequence are farging great.

Saw Resident Evil: Apocalypse yesterday.  The first one was better, and that's not saying too much.

Just got done watching it. It made the first one look good, which took some doing.

Saw Sideways today.  Excellent buddy flick.  I wonder when the novel came out, because the plot was eerily similar to Swingers at times.  Anyway, certainly can wait for DVD.  Thoroughly enjoyable, but not really big screen material.  Thomas Haden Church was great in it, specifically.

I agree that there wasn't any real need to see it in a theatre, other than if you're looking for a night out, and you don't want to watch lots of gratuitous swearing and stuff blowing up.

PoopyfaceMcGee

There's a decent amount of swearing in Sideways.  Plus, it gives you the urge to drink wine, and that's expensive.

Susquehanna Birder

It doesn't have to be expensive. You can often get a damned good bottle of wine (and I don't mean the crappy stuff like Thunderbird) for under $10.

Susquehanna Birder

Oh...and yeah, there is a touch of sex in there, too.   :evil

PoopyfaceMcGee

If the movie makes you thirsty for Pinot Noir, I recommend Estancia.  About $12/bottle.

If it makes you thirsty for sex or Thomas Haden Church man-ass, I can't help you.

Susquehanna Birder

Actually, it did give me more of an appreciation for Sandra Oh. And now I can laugh and sneer at any chardonnay.

Susquehanna Birder

No. The Merlot thing was funny, but, I did mean Chardonnay. While describing how difficult it is to produce good Pinot, he makes a disparaging comment about the production of Chardonnay.

(One of the best scenes, character-wise, IMO.)

PoopyfaceMcGee

Right, ok.  Understand.  It's just that he isn't opposed to Chardonnay nearly as much as he is Merlot.

Zanshin

Didn't see the movie, but I like a dry Merlot.
