obviously not trying to tell you anything about Peoria that you don't know..but Peoria has well over 100k people about which a quarter are black...doesn't surprise me at all with those demographics that it would get that film...probably only be there for a week tho

went on an nba all star break movie binge...

arrival - not just a watchable sci fi movie but one of the better ones ive ever seen...there was some talk of amy adams being a snub but i think they got it right...she was good but not oscar worthy...this one is all about the story

the girl on the train - cookie cutter murder mystery that was easily figured out about half way thru...still i dont get the utter hate for this...i get someone who loved the book hating it but the critical hate was huge too and while it wasnt good by any means it was watchable

hacksaw ridge - i have no idea how this was nominated even with 10 slots available...conmpletely forgettable and the obvious message and the reason the movie was made was so mel gibson could tell you that the only reason this guy was able to do what he did was because of jesus

deepwater horizon - the best part of this movie was the pacing...usually catastrophe movies way over play their hand and strect out the actual catostrophe far too long....this one focused more on the lead up and i almost feel like from the first sings of disaster pending until every who would survive got off the ship was done in real time...and the portrayal of it all was incredible tense and well done...movie tho is just worth watch for classic over the top malkovich scene chewing...no one does this better including pacino

american experience: oklahoma city - pbs' latest installment of their very good american experience series takes a look at the okie city bombing and the white supremacist movement that led to it...a lot of the footage comes from other pbs shows previously aired on ruby ridge and waco so theres nothing much new here if you are up on this kind of stuff...if you arent its definitely a real nice history class

omg lol..yeah i forgot about that...terrible casting...i kept waiting for him to say something funny after his outbursts...i was convinced that andrew garfield (not the character he was playing) was actually laughing when he was being screamed at...he had to have been like holy shtein i cant believe vince vaughn is out here trying to be a hard rock

even taking take vince vaughn out of it is there anything more played out in the movies than the mean drill instructor....im so over that character....i think we get it

A nice, sensitive drill instructor would definitely be more authentic and realistic.

because we havent seen enough of it i think they should have a two movie of nothing else but a scary army guy loudly yelling dumb insults in someones face....not sure why anyone hasnt thought of that before...it would be so intense!

if you can find it watch the opening monologue of the spirit awards....will be the best thing you see all weekend
