yeah, you're right.  that went right over my head though.  i guess i should be thankful, because the movie actually had a payoff at the end for me.

Identity was the only performance that Cusack hasn't completely mailed in over the last 5 years.

Plus, it gets bonus points for Jake Busey with a bat all the way down his throat.

you saw the twist early on that one?  i was genuinely surprised at the end of that movie.

I'm with you on that one, I had no clue what was going on till they showed the scary fat bald guy. As far as the movie goes it was okay but nothing I'd write home about. Some Amanda Peet skin would have been nice.

I missed the first half hour of Identity, so I thought it was pretty good.

The man. The myth. The legend.

I just watched Ong Bak last night. It's captioned, but with a good martial arts film you don't need to know what's going on outside of the asskicking anyway. I thought the movie kicked ass.

I watched this movie with my wife (she's from Thailand, where the movie was made) and other than a horrible job on the subtitles, it kicked ass. My wife speaks Thai fluently, and when I laughed at a particularly stupid line in the subtitles, she asked what was so funny, turned out it had nothing to do with what was actually said in the movie. Happened several times. I never knew Thailand was much for martial arts, but apparently this dude is some kind of Jackie Chan. From an action/fight perspective, I'd give it  :cfhead :cfhead :cfhead. Not a bad flick at all.

I have to admit I was really enjoying it until the little kid got killed, and at that point I knew what was going to happen.

Just watched "Red Eye".  Good thing Rachel McAdams is hot, because otherwise I'd firebomb Wes Craven's house.

At least it was only 80 minutes long.

3/5, because of Rachel McAdams.  1.5/5 otherwise.  Wes Craven's given up, apparently.

saw War of the Worlds this weekend.

i laughed for the 1st 15 minutes of the movie watching Tom Cruise trying to act like your normal, run of the mill dock worker, guy's guy.

the effects and action were good, the barely escaping thing got old after the 3rd time.

i don't want to ruin the end for anybody so i'll only say this.  Tom Cruise finds his son at the end and the aliens die because they get sick from the bacteria on earth that all humans are immune to.  gay.

saw the island. it's ok. it's a retold story of the utopia where someone tries to bust out of it, ala THX1138, 1984, Farenheit 411...ect...once you get that out of the way, it's entertaining.

Watched 2046 last night.  I wasn't really in the mood for an artsy subtitled film, so i didn't enjoy it as much as i should have.  I'll NetFlix it again though.  I'm sure i'd dig it a hell of a lot more.

tried to watch it last night.  Turned it off 45 minutes in.  That is one slooooowwww movie.

"Miller's Crossing" on the way from Netflix.  Holla.

Watched Paul Provenza/Penn Jillette documentary "The Aristocrats"... It's laugh-out loud disgustingly funny for about 20-30 minutes, and then it just gets old... since it's just the same reiterations of the same joke over and over (that's the idea of it).  It's worth a watch, but probably not worth watching all the way through.

Also, the humor is extremely vulgar, so if you or your ladyfriend is not into that, don't bother.
