Rewatching Where Eagles Dare on TCM right now.  One of my favorite WWII period pics.

I watched Taken yesterday and farging loved it. A movie that didn't try to be anything more than what it was. A straight forward revenge and action flick. No over the top special effects bullshtein. Just a dude farging shtein up hand to hand with no deeper message. It was awesome.

i think the deeper message is, remember how heavy a loaded gun is, because you're wife might pay for it if you don't
I'm the Anti-Christ. You got me in a vendetta kind of mood.

The deeper message is, watch movies not the Flyers.

I also had the misfortune of watching Land of the Lost this weekend. I didn't laugh once. Not a single time. It wasn't as awful as it was made out to be, I wasn't thinking about how terrible it was while I was watching it, but it was just completely unfunny.

I saw that to. First time in years I fell asleep during a movie.

Yeah that was bad.

I saw Prince of Persia the other day too.  Not awful but very average.  Thought it would be crazy good special effects but no.  It's only redeeming quality is that the main chick is smoking hot.

saw Iron Man 2 on Sunday.  it was pretty good, little slow in the middle, the Nick Fury stuff was cool and the action at the end was great.  Scarlett Johansson was um...

hot

Up -- a good movie but another one that shouldn't have been nominated for Best Picture

Planet 51 -- worth checking out if you like the computer-animated movies but it doesn't really have any replay value

I saw Shrek 4 with the rugrat today.  I have to say I was genuinely surprised that I didn't despise everything about it.  I laughed a few times and managed to make it through the entire movie without thoughts of suicide.

3/5 stars, one of which was awarded for it being the last movie in the series.

And I concur about Scarlett.

i was bored at work and watched Boondock Saints online through netflix.  i'm not sure what i think about it

its terrible
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Did anyone else watch The Road?

I was fired up when it came out and missed it in theaters because it only showed in a small moviehouse here for a couple days.

We rented it the other day and it was boring. I expected much more.
