John Bolaris!

Quote@CrashburnAlley Why would the Lakers want Chris Paul when they have Kobe..didn't really make alot of sense??

Sgt PSN

Yeah, why would anyone want to put one of the best PG's in the game along side one of the best SG's of all time?  That's just crazy talk!

brilliant move by stern

this is amazing buzz heading into the season. exactly what the nba needs.

pr magic as usual for him.
Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Dan Gilbert's email to Stern has been leaked and man what a whiner and it shows that the move was for basketball reasons like the league said; but rather $$$ because it would save LA $20M in salary and $21M in luxury taxes

phattymatty

so i don't get it, the owners have a say in all trades now or is it just because this one involved new orleans which the league owns?

Just because it involves NO since its league owned.

ice grillin you

gilbert is a whiner but hes also partly right...the league needs to do something about the player movment issues it has...its absolutely amazing to me that the league cancelled half a season and didnt come out with a hard cap...or at least some sort of tag system ala the nfl

I don't like the league not allowing this trade, but I like even less how these "superstars" are trying to form their own teams.  Its complete bs.

The first problem is that there are too many damn teams.

ice grillin you

thats every league....but i would say with the popularity that the nba holds around the world now...that of all the sports they are probably least effected by over expansion

i think it's dumb and i guess i don't get it, there is zero chance they get a better deal than Odom, Scola, Kevin Martin, and Dragic.

100x better than what the nugs got for melo last year.

basically they scratched it because it would make the lakers too good?

If Howard ends up in Crooklyn there's gonna be lawsuits flying like a motherfarger.

Can't wait.

QuoteThe New Jersey Nets met with Dwight Howard Thursday night in a move that would be a violation of the league's tampering rules, according to multiple sources.

Howard met with Nets owner Mikhail Prokhorov and general manager Billy King in Miami, sources said. Howard was joined by a few business associates.

The meeting violates the NBA's tampering rules because Howard's current team, the Orlando Magic, did not know about the meeting or give the Nets permission to meet with him, according to the sources.

In a telephone conversation Friday afternoon, Howard denied meeting with the Nets Thursday night, saying "there was no meeting."

Howard continued, "Right now, my plan is to show up to training camp for the Orlando Magic."

Nonetheless, several sources insist the meeting took place.

NBA.com reported that the Magic are considering filing tampering charges against two teams, one being the Nets. SI.com reported that the other team is the Houston Rockets.

The meeting was the first between Howard and the Nets, but the second between Howard's representatives and the Nets.

At the meeting, the group discussed a deal in which Howard would be traded to New Jersey. The plan was for Howard to ask Orlando to trade him Friday morning.

Sources said the Magic had been discussing a possible trade with New Jersey the past few days, but that nothing had been agreed upon.
