Zero hour, Michael. It's the end of the line. I'm the firstborn. I'm sick of playing second fiddle. I'm always third in line for everything. I'm tired of finishing fourth. Being the fifth wheel. There are six things I'm mad about, and I'm taking over.

Arenas to Miss Camp, Season's First Month After Surgery
Gilbert Arenas confirmed that he underwent a surgical procedure this morning that "cleaned out some debris" in his left knee. Arenas, who has undergone two surgeries to repair the left knee in the last two seasons, has been limited during the rehab process all summer and said he has planned all along on not participating in training camp or the preseason.

Arenas, who signed a six-year, $111 million contract this summer, said he plans on returning to game action sometime in early December which would mean that he'd miss at least the season's first month. The Wizards open the regular season Oct. 29 at home against New Jersey and play a total of 14 games in October and November.

"I just had some floating debris in there that was slowing me down," said Arenas, who seemed to be in good spirits. "It was irritating the knee so we decided to go in there and clean it out. This should actually allow me to come back faster."

Arenas was limited to 13 regular season games last season and missed the final eight regular season games and the playoffs the previous season after tearing the left meniscus in the knee during a game against Charlotte on April 4, 2007.

I've been on vacation and just flew back into town late last night so I'm still in the process of fleshing this all out. I can't yet tell you whether or to what extent president Ernie Grunfeld and coach Eddie Jordan were prepared for all of this.

Believe what you want Reese - I watched him work out last year (actually about 7 months ago) and he's cooked - unless of course he miraculously got his game back, got healthy, lost some weight and got his head straight...which is a as close to an improbability as IGY not posting after one of your posts.

Therefore, Miles is garbage - and done.

I dont know Die-Hard--hes looking good to the vets:

Once Miles returns (he will be eligible for a Nov. 15 visit to Milwaukee), his new teammates will be counting on him to produce the type of offensive spark James Posey provided last season.

"I'm excited about Darius Miles," forward Ray Allen said. "He hasn't played in a while, and he's excited to be here and help this team.

"When people see him play, he'll be a fan favorite. People say he hasn't played in a couple years, but at the same time he has a lot of basketball left in him. He's only 26 years old, and to be able to have him at this stage of his career is going to be great for us."

DH

Um, how exactly is he "looking good"? At no point did any of his teammates (soon to be former) make a mention of specifically seeing him play...

Of course theyre excited - he's 26 and "has a lot of basketball left". So does Jonathan Bender...

Listen, Id like to see him come back and be a contributor. When I saw him work out, he seemed like a decent guy, just trying to work hard and come back and play. But the odds are stacked against him, and people will not believe in him until they are given good reason to. Count me as part of that group of people.

Die-Hard probably beats reese out on the whole basketball knowledge thing.
