Diomedes

good shtein, right?

I first heard them when I was living in the Bronx..at least a year ago.  Yay public radio.

Does that album have the Stairway to Heaven cover?  That's the song I first heard from them and have since checked out others..they are fantastic.

That's the one. They also do a great cover of Orion. They totally cook. It's excellent driving music, BTW.

I've been checking out some youtube clips, too.

perhaps you could explain sd's reasons for "disliking" it as well since you seem to be so in tune with other peoples minds

Susquehanna Birder

Definitely worth it to me. I got it via iTunes, so it was $10, and I was able to sample it before pulling the trigger.

The drawback to marital longevity is your wife always knows when you're really interested in her and when you're just trying to bury it.

Just listened though the new Fratelli's album, Here We Stand...it's not as good as Costello Music...but it's still decent.

MGMT- Oracular Spectacular... Kind of like The Killers with more electronic stuff, Time to Pretend seems like a good beach summer song.  Plus the lyrics are catchy
QuoteI'm feeling rough, I'm feeling raw, I'm in the prime of my life.
Let's make some music, make some money, find some models for wives.
I'll move to Paris, shoot some heroin, and farg with the stars.
You man the island and the cocaine and the elegant cars.

This is our decision, to live fast and die young.
We've got the vision, now let's have some fun.
Yeah, it's overwhelming, but what else can we do.
Get jobs in offices, and wake up for the morning commute.

Forget about our mothers and our friends
We're fated to pretend
To pretend
We're fated to pretend
To pretend

I'll miss the playgrounds and the animals and digging up worms
I'll miss the comfort of my mother and the weight of the world
I'll miss my sister, miss my father, miss my dog and my home
Yeah, I'll miss the boredem and the freedom and the time spent alone.

There's really nothing, nothing we can do
Love must be forgotten, life can always start up anew.
The models will have children, we'll get a divorce
We'll find some more models, everyting must run it's course.

We'll choke on our vomit and that will be the end
We were fated to pretend
To pretend
We're fated to pretend
To pretend

Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah

basically just mashups of 80's and 90's rap with the new stuff out there, pretty cool, but a super gay name

General_Failure

I need some new music. What's on my ipod hasn't changed in the last year, and some of it I'm more than a little tired of after hearing it for ten years now.
