that list isnt fully up to date...there have been some silent verbals that arent indicated on there

they also have logan el...who is the key to penn states class imo...as a md verbal..when in fact he has taken that verbal back and now lists ups as his leader

i really really hope they get odrick too

I would say both are excellent choices for a linebacker right now. I don't envy his decision.

Yeah, what a terrible position to be in.
Is rjs gonna have to choke a bitch?

Never said it was a lock.  PSU is a favorite to land him, but there's no guarantee...

what's everyone's take for tomorrow?

i think they can win, but they have to be better offensively if they want to do it.

If they're defense shows up like it did last week they won't need any more offense. They are the better team going in, if they avoid a letdown they'll win. Of course I FULLY expect them to have a let down and lose, but if they show up ready to play they'll win.

well, i think Michigan is better offensively than Ohio State was, so I am figuring they might put up more points this week, thus needing PSU's offense to produce more.  but you may be right, their defense is championship quality.

absolutely...the penn state offense will have to win the game this week...not in that they will have put up 35 and win a shootout but just as you said michigan is going to put a lot more points than ohio state did...more because they are at home...people have hated on the buckeyes offense way to much this week...when in reality they have a good one with lots of weapons...but they were in almost an impossible enviroment up there going against a very good ups defense...no team not named usc would have gone in there and scored last week

buckeyes are a better team than michigan but at michigan is a tougher game than home vs osu and for that reason i think they will lose...i just cant see them not beating anyone in the big ten for three years and then beating michigan and ohio st back to back...

24-13 michigan

one way they can win tho is if they get some big plays out of dwill...maybe a kick a return...perhaps a monster play on a reverse...ect...they cant be expected to drive down the field for their touchdowns and keep up wioth michigan...they HAVE to get some easy ones

I think they're going to win. I think the defense will step up like they did last week and they make just enough plays on offense to win.

PSU - 23
Michigan - 17

Maybin turned down Florida and picked Penn State, according to the Baltimore Sun  :yay

QuoteWhat team will make the biggest recruiting noise over the next week? Penn State might be the best bet. The Nittany Lions reportedly have some big-time new commitments on the way. National recruiting analyst Mike Farrell gives you the scoop on the high school players have and will jump on board with the surging Nittany Lions. Will Rivals100 lineman Jared Odrick be next?

I think a win in the Big House today gets a lot of recruits to come PSU's way.  Easier said than done.

Some stuff from ESPN's mid-season review:

QuoteIvan: My first question: Can you spell Posluszny?

Pat: No I cannot. But I can spell Paterno. We've had 40 years of practice. It's very relevant again.

Ivan: It's P-O-S-L-U-S-Z-N-Y. Pronounced: Con-lan, or Ar-ring-ton. Are they the biggest surprise? Probably not.

Pat: I don't know. I think they might be. They had losing records four of last five years. They had reason for optimism. But the jury was way out on Michael Robinson. The freshmen looked good, but they were still freshmen.

The one thing they haven't done is go play in a legitimate snake pit. Their only road win is against Northwestern. But what they've done at home is really impressive. The old-time Penn State rocking atmosphere is definitely back.

Ivan: Are they good enough to win the Big Ten?

Pat: They have to go to Ann Arbor. Is Michigan in the tank? Penn State has got to go to Michigan State. They get Wisconsin at home. It's awfully tough to beat Penn State in State College at this point. And it's not like Penn State has to go to Tuscaloosa and Austin to be undefeated. Penn State doesn't even play Iowa.

.....

Ivan: And now, drum roll please, your coach of the half-year, which is better than your half-coach of the year:

Pat: I would have said Charlie Weis of Notre Dame last week, but Joe Paterno, gee ... I'll say Paterno, as much for what he's not doing as what he's doing. One thing I heard in Happy Valley is that he's keeping his hands off the play-calling and letting Galen Hall do it.

Ivan: Maybe Galen Hall is the coach of the half-year.

Pat: Get your Frank Broyles Award (best assistant coach) list ready.

Ivan: We all feared that Joe would be too stubborn to make the staff changes he needed to make. And yet the guy that really helps him is another older coach, an ex-Paterno player who's been around the block several times. And Hall revitalizes the whole deal.

My guys would be Paterno and Shula. I think Paterno has one more quality win than Shula at this point.
