Talk about embarassing

QuoteBut the man the Dolphins acquired this offseason to unseat Fiedler also appeared not ready for prime time at other moments, not the least of which was when he misplaced his helmet when his turn to play came in the second quarter. A TV timeout spared Feeley further embarrassment, but it was hardly a display of game awareness that inspired confidence.

"I had a hard time finding my helmet,'' said Feeley, chagrined in the visiting locker room. "You don't like something like that prohibiting you from getting in the game. It was kind of a frustrating deal. We couldn't find my helmet anywhere. But fortunately they came through with one of those long TV timeouts.''

With him struggling to beat out Fiedler, their RB's stinking and the team in overall disarray...it is looking like that #2 pick is going to be high.

And then we can use that #2 to trade up for a stud RB like Cadillac or Sproles.

And then I woke up from my dreamworld.....

Reid will not draft a "blue-chip" RB with Westbrook still around.  But I wouldn't mind trading up to nab a LT that can handle the occasional speed-rusher or even another DB of some sort.

Didn't Feeley throw an INT to Ronnie Lott's kid who's trying to make the Bucs? Man I feel old.

Feeley spent his whole (short) career learning one complicated system with certain receivers.  He is now having to learn a whole new system, with different receivers.  The guy has little starting experience and is almost like a rookie going into Miami.   I think the Dolphins FO/coaches and fans should give this guy time to learn and progress.

The perfect scenario for Feeley IMO is for Fiedler (who knows the system and players) to start the early part of the year, suck as always and then for Feeley to take over.

AJ Is Missing Philly Too

QuoteAthletes who have spent any length of time on the payroll of one of Philadelphia's professional sports franchises experience a great many emotions when they leave the city.

Homesickness seldom is one of them.

Most jocks who have done time in America's toughest sports town celebrate the moment they put Philly in their rear-view mirror much the same way our parents did V-E Day. But not A.J. Feeley.

Even as he battles for the starting quarterback job with the Miami Dolphins, Philadelphia never is very far from the ex-Eagle's mind or heart.

"Leaving there was bittersweet," says Feeley, who was traded to the Dolphins in March for a second-round pick in the 2005 draft. "The city embraced me. I embraced everybody in that city and the city itself. It's still tough to deal with [leaving]. But things change and you've got to adjust to that. I couldn't expect to be in that place forever."

He says it sadly, almost as if a part of him wishes he still were back in South Philadelphia sitting behind Donovan McNabb and Koy Detmer rather than down here with a nice, new contract and a golden opportunity to be an NFL starter.

a part of him wishes to be the #3 QB in Philly instead of competeing for the #1 in Miami?   I think Feeley just wants a nice paycheck to do nothing.

Why should he be different?

Actually, he's in a rough spot.  Without a running game, and behind that crappy line, he's going to get killed.  Once the fins lose a couple, it should be a no-brainer to start Feeley, over the aged and decidedly mediocre Fiedler, at least to better prep him in that system.  If it's even close, they should start Feeley because he's future and the guy with the upside (and the paycheck).

It still cracks me up that the Fins are trying to decide between TWO former #3 Eagles QBs in a Ricky-less offense.  lol.

because there are a 100 other QB's out there who would give their left nut to be able to start on any NFL team no matter how crappy they are.

Zanshin

I was kidding.  Sort of figure it didn't require a smiley since I'm almost always kidding.  I think I need a serious smiley to let folks know when I'm serious.

In which other city does the #3 QB get the accolades, media attention, and endorsement $ that Feeley enjoyed while he was here?
